I used one or two of them just at the beginning to try them on, but the entire situation was so horrendously bad when Shepard goes "I thought we were going to meet face-to-face" when meeting Tim that.. that's not gonna happen again.

I used them for a small portion of the game, theyre only really usefull until you start purchasing armor pieces and combining those, after that the DLC armor loses value. Im not gunna agree and say theyre useless, cause theyre not, someone made a post on here the other day stating how some sets get better "X" stats, than combining armor pieces, such as more health, or faster health regeneration, etc...

Only set i havent used is blood dragon, but then again all i have is blood dragon and terminus, im trying to get a collectors set from a friend, but im just one of those people that like to have everything in a game, getting that digital deluxe edition DLC sniper is going to be a bit harder to get

the dlc armors have been pretty much revealed as nothing more than pre-order gimmicks.

and we all basically fell for it.  :?

Personally, I fell for the Blackstorm Singularity Projector, so on that score, I'm satisfied.  The armor was only ever mildly interesting, as I assumed better stuff would be in the game, and then after playing, interesting only in the sense of wondering WTF whoever approved the whole single-piece, perma-helmet idea was thinking.

I do agree with posters above that without being able to toggle the helmet off of the custom armours, I had no desire to use them when playing the game.

i have most dlc but don't use it. at most i'll use dr pepper recon hood bc i think it looks cool on a male soldier. i use vindicator rifle over collector rifle. i do use the incisor sniper rifle on all my squadmates though, my shep uses the viper. in general, i prefer the N7 armor. i just wish there were more pieces available to mix and match.

They should be customizable and I would use them.

Its not that DLC armors are good anyway, save for the blood dragon one, and even that is good only for certain classes.

On a soldier and infiltrator, the N7 with the Kuwashii Visor simply is the best. However on a adept/engineer/sentinel, then the Blood Dragon easily beats the N7.

If you have the Umbra Visor however and can get to Tuchanka, then you can customize your N7 to be almost as good as Blood Dragon, it should be noted however that you still will fall 2% behind on shields and power damage.

On a vanguard, things are not so simple though. The Blood Dragon gives a great chunck of shield and power damage, which is good, but the blood dragon gives weapon damage and shield regen ( if you got capacitors ) So both are good.

I am not using them either which would ****** me off to no end had i actually shelled out money for them. But as they were free, and not really any better the the N7 stats wise, plus the total lack of customization they just sit in the locker gathering dust. I mean for ****s sake they could have at least allowed the helmets to be removed, kind of sucks that you spend 45 minutes getting that just right look and you can never see it because the helmet is stapled on.

necromancer is not a class in ME2, stop trying to roleplay one by resurrecting threads...:P

LOL yeah, the OP made this topic one month ago.
But isn't it interesting to see the huge change in opinion? How everyone was: "Of course I'm gonna use the DLC armor!" and now almost nobody uses them because there's no stupid helmet toggle and non-existent customization.

I have worn my collector's armor and the other DLC armor ONLY ONCE. Now they gather dust in my armory.

Signed. The helmet issue isn't worth the bonuses - I spent ages getting Shep just right, so I don't want to permanently put her head in a box.

The helmet thing is just a no-brainer. I think noone expected that the helmet doesnt come off, ever. If that was actually clear from the beginning then less CEs would have been sold for sure. Not cool, BioWare, not cool.

I've not used them once, after looking at them when choosing armour I just could not stand them, they look horrible, but then I have come to the conclusion that all pre-order items ruin the gaming experience nowadays anyway. I don't use any of the dlc weapons either aside from the eviscerator shotgun (which is quite nice admittedly), and have not once equipped the collector assault rifle on any of my characters or squadmates except by accident.

The main issue with these DLC items is that they do not fit well into game.

They are free, in-game, you just load DLC and you get them for free, no reason what so ever. In RPGs you don't get things free, you EARN them. Either by doing some quest, or by getting enough money to buy them. Doing otherwise cheapens gameplay experience.

Also, new armors don't fit well into game, because helmet can't be off, which destroys some cut-scenes, plus they make Shepard look like some kind of Dark Vader clone.

I do like the collector rifle though.

Never really used my armours (have cerberus and collector armour). The former's kind of clunky, and the latter looks like Shepard's wearing a skinned Collector, taking the armour's name a little too literally. And of course the puny stat bonuses aren't worth the lack of customisability.

... Because they arn't the least bit customizable.. Their stats are questionable, you will get better from mixing and matching pieces.. And finally N7 armor can be made to look way cooler then any of the DLC armors.. I honestly don't understand what Bioware was thinking, they should have added armor pieces, not full sets of armor.... The cerberus armor also is butt ugly and looks more akin to a astronaught suit we have today then anything you would use in combat.

I just don't like the looks of the collector's rifle to be honest.  Agree with you totally on your assessment of the armours, I'd have been happier with just an extra chest piece or shoulder pads (especially since the shoulder pads seem to be lacking as many options anyway).

The only one that i have used on more than one mission is the new cerberous armour, mostly because the scenes don't make since with full helmets, i usually stick to N7 armour and the dr. pepper version of sun glasses.

Agree with the change in decision- the N7 armour is customisable, can have no helmet and has better stats...

Like the look of the blood dragon dlc armour, but it's only good if using a biotic right at the beginning of the game.
