Romanced Miranda on my first series playthrough, loved it.

Doing yet another playthrough, fully intent on exploring a different romance avenue. Yet the second Miranda appeared on screen and started talking I fell in love all over again. Now I want nothing more than to romance her again.

Even on my Femshep playthrough, the whole time I was wishing I could romance her.

Miranda Addiction

Miranda is an acquired taste. At first I did not like her because of her "street walker" outfit and he underwhelming weapon suite. But after I switched to being a power player rather than a shooter, Miranda's abilities really began to shine. She is a go anywhere, handle any enemy team mate. With Warp and Overload she can be profitably used on any mission. (Too bad her health is so low.) In fact, I ended up making a male Shep just so I could romance her. But after doing the romance thing in both ME2 and ME3, I decided she is a rather boring romance option. You just don't get to interact with her enough in ME3. Although I would not romance her again, I still respect her greatly. So now all my Shep's treat her as a valued XO and second in command.

The thing about her that grates, though is her "street walker" outfit. I get to her loyalty mission ASAP so that I can change her outfit. Not sure why the game designers dressed her up like they did just so they could have all the rest of the NPCs in the game rag on her for the way she dresses. Aiming for the adolescent male market?

^ totally get that about respecting her as XO, she has your back big time and is such a capable leader, not afraid to get things done.

As for her outfit, I would definitely not equate it to a street-walker outfit, although it is definitely racier than most. She just strikes me as a woman who is very aware of her looks, and uses it to her advantage, while never crossing the line into "street walker". She doesn't reveal her cleavage, unlike Jack and Samara. A skin tight suit is very viable in combat, and if you look closely, Jacob's is very similar. I never got the feeling of gratuity, more like a self-aware controlled objectification that many women are comfortable with.

As for her romance, I enjoyed the much less complicated aspects of it. I inadvertently fell in love with her personality and was unable to shake it. Yes, I was infuriated by the lack of interaction with her in ME3, but was pleased that the time that I did get to spend was pretty amazing. I just wish she was a main character in that last one, rather than a side mission character.

I take back what I said earlier. I just got Citadel a few days ago and it looks like I am going to have to make another Sheppard just so I can romance Miranda again. She has just invited my Femshep out to dinner and promises to wear a red outfit. Can't wait to see what that is like.

She should have been available for a femshep romance, along with Jack.

Personally I can't stop romancing Jack, I wanted to try out romancing Tali or Miranda on my latest run of ME2... but Jack's tears taste so sweet for Paragon Shep:P

I can barely bring myself to talk to Jack. I have only gotten as far as the "you want to sleep with me?" conversation. The writers did a great job of making her as abrasive as possible. (OTOH, I usually run a femshep, so that probably colors my opinion of her. It is probably different for a male Sheppard.)

Jack is pretty much everything I find unattractive in a woman. I hated her character for a long time, couldn't even stand to talk to her. Then I sort of forced myself to give her romance a try and found it actually very good. It's probably my second favorite of ME2 now.

On topic: Miranda is by far my favorite romance in ME2, the one I keep coming back to. Honestly she's my favorite in the whole trilogy, even after being disappointed with the conclusion of it in 3.

And I agree that she should have been an option for a FemShep romance. Would have been better than what we have now.

Although I agree that femShep may get screwed over on romance options, I do not think Miranda should have been one of them. :)

I absolutely love the convo with FemShep and Miranda. Finally I got the sense that they were friends, had bonded during all this time. Made me so incredibly happy to see it and made me value Miranda more. It was truly great.

I have to agree with that. Something about Miranda makes it hard for me to see her in a homosexual relationship. She just seems too "straight" laced. Jack, OTOH, basically comes right out and says she wouldn't have a problem with it in the Citadel DLC. Jack strikes me as totally bi.

I never saw Kaiden as a gay/bi man either, but there it was.

Miranda would have surprised me less, actually. Given what she was created for, and who she then worked for, I would be surprised if she never used her "talents" on another woman.

Probably for the best, though. Given my love for Miranda, if she was an option for FemShep too I'd probably never see any of the game's other romances. Image IPB

You can manipulate based on your looks without actually getting into a relationship or getting it on.  And I would not rule out possibility that Miranda may have manipulated women every now and then... although you can see with Jack and Ash how it may have a deleterious effect on straight women.

Kaidan was retconned because there was a vocal group of ME players that wanted it.

Maybe so, and that's fine. I was merely making a counter-point to cap and gown's statement.

And, just in case my comment unintentionally rubbed anyone the wrong way, I was not complaining about Kaidan or how he was written. He's been one of my favorite characters since ME1. Just to be clear. Image IPB

Bioware messed up big in ME3 with her romance, she needed to be a squad mate and have a real romance and romance scene like Liara and Ashley!Image IPB

Yes. For me, personally, this was the biggest flaw of ME3.

I also like Miranda... especially when she's in her loyalty suit. But I like her dressed either way, too.
