so i finished my playthrough as a 2handed warrior . . very strong i must say bosses i thought were tough were very simple and i took them down quickly.

but now im trying my hand as a mage i unlocked blood mage in awakening so i don't need to go totally evil route in this playthrough but what are some fun builds for a mage? i hear alot of talk about Acrane Warrior/Blood Mage but i kinda had my way with combat from many playthroughs as a warrior and a rogue so i might not go that route.

Blood Mage: " this one sounds . . very deadly but using your own health for spells im gonna need alot of health for this one will i have three things too level up Con Magic and Will?

Shapeshifter: " meh . . "

Spirit Healer: "being the party's healer i'll be the eyes and ears of the group since i'll be at such range i'll be looking after them this i don't mind"

Battlemage: " unless someone changes my mind about being an Arcane Warrior i won't worry about this one"

Keeper: " so this is the only one i might pick outta the awakening Specs"

I just did awakening, and altho i had unlocked bloodmage already, how do unlock it in awakening ?
I'm also now doing amgarrak on nightmare no less, with AW,
and wonder if any magic work particularly well against golems ?
I found that king cailans armor works particularly well with blood magic due to the whopping
health regeneration, as well as working like a charm with stoic,
and it was in fact only at this point that i had enuff regeneration to run more than speed & SS

Think you would call a walking bomb mage suicidal lol well on nightmare anyway. I found BM fun and Healer build is very fun when being chased by a bunch of dark spawn trying to keep team alive. Mages are only fun later in the game at the start they are squishy. I still enjoy most of the mage build only one that is very annoying is bloodmage another suicidal route well for me it is you need tons of health gear and stuff. That being said still completed the game as one I have used nearly all mage classes.

I have come to enjoy playing as an Arcane Mage, when playing the game as a mage unless this specialization is activated, a mage must be content with sitting on the sidelines shooting light from their staffs, while the warriors render the dragon's head from his neck. As a mage, Combat magic allows yuou to wear better armor while keeping skill points available for magic skill rather than wasting them on increasing strength.

Blood magic comes into its own in awakening, where, if you didnt waste all points on sweet talking,
-you can invest points in health and mana as new skills, 50 for each point,
and every new level also gives more health.
In addition, you can also put 3 stout runes in calens chestpiece, each with 14 extra constitution, total 42.
If you then combine it with cailens armor and lifegiver, meaning AW,
you get +8 health regeneration plus even more life from lifegiver, 10 constitution IIRC,
and then Soulbound ring gives +100 spirit damage.
