Hi! Help me. Sorry for my English. I'm using the NWN2 toolset and I need to know how to spawn creatures balanced at the level of the character that enters the area. Thank you for your help Posted Image

Hi there. I don't know how others make it, but when I set encounters and monsters, I have an idea in my head about the level the PC is going to be. I test the campaign, and balance the experience that the quests give, then I know how much the PC can take. It sometimes takes a lot of time, but there is a plugin at the vault called MTT for testing your module. You can teleport anywhere you want and try a fight. If you see that the encounter is too difficult, loose a couple of creatures from the maximum number that it spawns.
Furthermore, if you played the OC, or pnp generally, you have a quite clear image about how difficult a monster is, so for a level 1 PC you won't set an encounter with 10 mummies :D.
I hope I understood your question and gave a correct answer :).

Thank you for your response :). I want to say this: the same area spawn different creatures depending on the level of the PC that enters into it. If in the area enters a PC level 1 spawn certain creatures; if it enters a higher-level PC, spawn creatures stronger. How can I do? I hope explained :)

You need to use an OnClientEnter script to do this properly.

Inside the script you can make a call to GetTotalLevels() to determine the level of the character that entered the area. Then you can go and spawn the appropriate creatures.

Paint down an encounter, and go to properties.
set the minimum # of creatures to 1 and the max. to say... 10
add the creatures you want to spawn for the level range you expect. cr1, cr2, cr3... up to the highest you want.
The game engine will choose an appropriate number and strength of creatures when the encounter is triggered.
Make sure;
Active is set to true.
Auto-Reset is true
Auto-Reset Delay = how long before you want the trigger to reset.
That should do it. Good luck.
