So, fine. Here's only a fraction of the things I want to know about the Kossith (ox men) and I'd like to learn some of them through an intimate relationship, because in my opinion the LI's have closer relationships, divulging more info.

TO MAKE IT EASY, IN THIS THREAD: I am referring to their race as "Kossith" and I am referring to (one of) their religions/subcultures as Qunari.

(If you have questions about the Kossith that aren't listed here, post them to the thread and I'll edit them into the OP.)

-Where do they come from/what's their history before the development of the Qun?
-What cultural development led to some of the Kossith forming the Qun vs those who opted out?
- What's their family structure within the Qun?
- What's their family structure outside the Qun?
- What happens when a Qunari Kossith becomes Tal-Vashoth but another group of Kossiths have reservations about taking him/her in?
- What are the Kossith gender roles outside the Qun vs inside the Qun?
- Why do the Kossith mostly have horns when some do not?
- What sort of environment led the Kossith to develop physically the way they did?
- Do magic-wielding Kossith use lyrium?
- Do magic-wielding Kossith get put in a Kossith circle, assuming that they are not part of the Qun...
- Are magic-wielding Kossith's powers stronger than those of elves and humans?
- How do Kossith people - both in the Qun or part of a different subculture - handle things like death, marriage, divorce, medicine, money, politics, education, diet, fashion, religion, government, housing, inheritance, art, music, science, literature, entertainment, exercise, sports, domesticated animals, technology, sex, law enforcement, and war?
- Just how many subcultures (aside from the Qun) are the Kossith part of? How did they come to be? How do they overlap? How do they differ? And what socio-political strains exist between them?
- Are there Kossith with different colored skin? Do they physically vary? Some have horns while others don't. What other physical traits differ? Are there brunettes? Are there bigger Kossith? Smaller? Red? Yellow? Black? Purple? Are they simply all homogenous or are there definite genetic variations between regions?
- What kinds of illnesses are unique to the Kossith? What viruses are they more susceptible to catch? Do they possess any degenerative diseases acquired via heredity? Do they posses cures for such things or have these illness eluded their healers for too long?
- What are the behavioral/hormonal differences between male and female Kossiths?
- What kinds of emotional disorders do Kossiths have? Do they experience depression, sociopathy, mania, eating disorders, psychosis, memory issues, anxiety, catatonia, obsessive compulsion, or drug addiction?
- What are the sensory differences between Kossith and other races? How do they differ in tactile, auditory, vestibulocochlear/equilibrium, gustation, and olfaction?

- What is a Kossith's intelligence level compared to other races?
- How do different subcultures of Kossith measure intelligence? Are they keen on book knowledge or more on physical skills?
-Which Kossith subcultures favor cerebral intelligence vs physical prowess? Does this make some Kossith subcultures more uppity than others?
- How many different languages do Kossith speak, from subculture to subculture?
- How did the Qun-Kossith learn to speak among humans? Did someone teach them? Do they teach other, non-Qun Kossith how to communicate with humans or is it only the Qun-Kossith who know how?

If I were in an intimate, sexual relationship with a Kossith:
- How do Kossith flirt from subculture to subculture?
- How would city elves treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would Dalish elves treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would noble dwarves treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
-How would common dwarves treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would lowly dwarves treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would humans (high, middle, and low class) treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would merchants (of any race) treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would My companions treat my protag if in love with a Kossith?
- How would Qunari-affiliated Kossith treat my protag if in love with a Qun or non-Qun Kossith?
- Are Kossith open to homosexual relationships or do they not carry that genetic trait?
- Does having sex with a Kossith, specially, pose any benefits or disadvantages? Are they good or bad at it or does it vary, Kossith to kossith? Do they carry sexual diseases? Do humans pose a threat of sexual disease to them?
- Can a Kossith impregnate anyone other than another Kossith?
- What is Kossith pregnancy and childbirth like?
- How do different subcultures of Kossith (excluding Qun) name their children?
- At what age do Kossith begin to grow horns? Are they born with them? Do they grow later? If a Kossith, depending on his subculture, does not grow horns, what social ramifications does that incite?
- Are there any recorded historical couplings between a Kossith and a human? What about elf? Dwarf?
- How do different subcultures of Kossith handle the topic of sex? Are some more conservative while others are more sexually expressive?
- Is a Kossith capable of romantic love or do they not feel love? Do Kossith values regarding love differ from subculture to subculture?
- Do Kossith kiss or is that gesture foreign to them? What would they do instead to display publicly appropriate physical affection?
-Are there subcultures of Kossith that display public physical affection in what would be considered by humans as inappropriate?

Further Questions/Interests From Thread Replies:

- I'd like the know what "Kossith" actually is insofar as what the Qunari were like before the Qun.  What was their ancient society like?
- Given the Qun's major suspicion and suppresion of magic, a lot of focus has been placed on technology and from what we know craftsman are female.  I'd assume inventors and scientists fall into that category as well.  Does this mean the Qunari have no male scientists/inventors?
- I want to see a Qunari baby
- "who they would be for a friend". That could take someone who follows, or has followed, the Qun to pretty interesting places. Is this something built into them? Is there room for doubt? The Qunari we've seen so far have been unshakeable, it would add considerably depth to have one we could shake.
- Are Kossith a race or are they a species? That is, can Kossith actually have children with humans, elves or dwarves?
- Considering they are both born into the religion, therefore experience the certainty of the Qun for their entire life, how will having a romance with a Qunari human/elf be different from having a romance with a Qunari ox-man? That is what it all ultimately boils down to.

..................

I'd really love to see something new in the ways of a love interest. Considering the Mass Effect games, players had a chance to fall in love with alien races that looked wholly different from a human.

I always thought the Arishok was an attractive Qun-Kossith (mainly due to his ornamentation around the ears, believe it or not):

I was thinking of having someone either like the Arishok-style or someone quite dashing like Marko from the graphic novel "Saga".

Observe:

(also - yes - his clothing is too contemporary. Imagine something more suited for Dragon Age)

- it'd be something new
- i've never seen their race in a romance (curiosity)
- a personal quest with someone of this race would open up more information about the dynamics between different members (whether they are religious, loners, or some other affiliation)
- personally i think it'd be a cool idea to pair your hero up with someone of this race because it has not been done before
- :::additional personal reasons from a variety of DA fans that have not yet been discussed:::
- it looks fun <-- the most important reason when playing a game.

Qunari LI would make no sense.
I think you mean kossith LI but David Gaider, dude who decides such things, classified that one as fetish so that wont happen, unless he finds good reason for it.

As an aside, people should post that more. Very few things raised on this forum have an objective reason, but everyone tries to construct one, when what they really means is: I would enjoy this.

More on topic:
I think there's a reasonable chance of a companion who's rejected the Qun, because it's a perspective we've not seen and would allow for an exploratiion that hasn't been possibly with any of the Qunari we've encountered.

Don't qunari all have giant equipment that can crush a woman's insides and cause internal bleeding? I'm pretty sure I read that in a fanfic somewhere.

I'm thinking of TES's Argonians right now.

And by extension, The Real Bereneziah.

Assuming we're only getting 4 options like in the previous games, then I'd prefer if none of them were kossith personally. If we're getting a romance of a race that wasn't done before than I really want to see a dwarf who I can romance.

If we get more than 4 options, then yeah, sure! I'm not sure if I'd romance him but it'd be great to you who want it. I'll never say no to more options. ^^

THEBABYYYYWITHTHEWIDDLEHOORNNNNSSSSSSSSSSS ><

I want to see a Qunari baby even more nowww. ='D

On topic, I hope the rumored Tal-Vashoth "Iron Bull" ends up being a companion. As a LI, sure. But I'm more interested in learning a T-V's perspective.

Morrigan: You seem so deep in thought, my dear Sten. Thinking of me, perhaps? The two of us, together at last?
Sten: Yes.
Morrigan: I... what did you say?
Sten: You will need armor, I think. And a helmet. And something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?
Morrigan: How strong are my teeth?
Sten: Qunari teeth can bite through leather, wood, even metal given time. Which reminds me, I may try to nuzzle.
Morrigan: Nuzzle?
Sten: If that happens, you'll need an iron pry bar. Heat it in a fire, first, or it may not get my attention.
Morrigan: Perhaps it would be better if we did not proceed.
Sten: Are you certain? If it will satisfy your curiosity...
Morrigan: Yes. Yes, I think it is best.

heh, perhaps not....

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, your opinion, man

I'd rather have a Female Qunari LI myself.

I approve of this, just as I would approve of a female Qunari LI.
Their culture is fascinating and getting a personal insight into how they would deal with an unexpected entanglement is a very appealing thought.

Plus, it makes for great drama.

@iakus
I thought he was just teasing. Plus, there are plenty of ways to be intimate without penetration and/or possibly killing your partner. ;)

First they probably have all the Love Interests decided and second, why do you want to the alter the lore the writers already created?

As other have said, he was just trolling her.

Was rather funny. One of my favorite conversations (I think Alistair whining to Wynne might beat it out).

There is one thing I don't understand. How come dwarven/qunari/whatever fetish is wrong, but elven is okey, hmmm?
