Since this topic isn't really about Qunari as culture, but about the ox-men specifically, I'll ask this:
--clip--
David Gaider's use of the term "fetish" is aimed at people who want an ox-man romance solely because they're ox-men, which, I have to say, is a very, very weak reason to request this.
Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation all weekend (for EVO) and missed this.
I'll try my best to tell you why I think a Qunari Romance would be the most interesting romance they could do at this point in the franchise and hopefully it wont be too long of a post.
Dragon Age doesn't do much to differentiate itself from other popular works of fantasy out there but the things it does do are what makes it interesting.
The Blight (AKA Sauron and the Army of Evil -- Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, Ogre's):
What's interesting about it in DA?
These creatures are actually corrupted versions of the "Good" races of the universe. (Uruk-Hai anyone?)
Hurlock = Human
Genlock = Dwarf
Shriek = Elf
Ogre = Qunari
The Majority of the interesting stuff is a by product of this.
The Grey Wardens
The Architect
The Broodmothers
The Taint
Dwarves (They live in the ground, have big beards, love gold, have little love for other races, are great smiths.)
What makes them interesting in DA?
Their opressive society and it's strict Class Structure.
Elves (These lithe beautiful creatures are the eldest race of the universe(s). They have a close bond with nature, and love themselves some archery.)
What makes them interesting in DA?
They have lost their heritage, forgotten their origins, and have basically become the second class citizens in human cities. (In some extreme cases, I would go so far as to call them slaves).
The Qunari and by extension the Qun are (as far as I know, maybe someone can shed some light) 100% original.
The details of their Race and Culture is largely unexplored.
A Qunari (Tal-Vashoth would be better IMO) companion that is willing to discuss these things should be a DA fan's dream come true.
Doubly so if they are a romantic interest as it would give us a more intimate look inside their race/culture.
Anyways I've blathered on long enough. Hope I answered your question.
