I need a little help creating a costume play outfit for Male Commander Shepard.
Any tips?

Character:

Character: Male Shepard
Armor: Something light. Preferably Light Onyx Armor with the iconic red and white stripes and N7 logo added.
No helmet.
Weapon: Any light assault rifle. Preferably M8 Avenger or M7 Lancer.
Omnitool: Perhaps, Though I'm not to fond since omnitools are holographic, and a piece of plastic doesn't really work.
N7 Logo: On right brest.

Budget:

£50 [UK],
80 Euros,
$74.5 [USA]

I'm not willing to go beyond £80
If I can't find anything less than £80, I'll have to make the costume myself (and I have no experience in this area).

Costume Play Experience:

None.
I have no experience in creating costumes or earing costumes.

Please note that I have no experience in designing costumes or cosplay for that matter.

Either this

Or this

Comfortable light armor (I don't want to wear heavy armor since it's summer)
Default ME 3 N7 armor you get at the start of the game would do also.

For creme de la creme google Latex Edi cosplay to see where this kind of thing can take you.

Then find a pic of the look you want. Then start thinking 'how do I emulate that'.

If you were going for Shepards N7 armour I'd say the same thing on account that the shoulder armour is different from his ME2 - 3 design.

So grab a pic of what you want to look like first. Get your vision.

*edit Arrrgh Yah beat me too it!

Thanks Redbelle.

This video illustrates the fact it takes a lot of skill to craft the N7 armor.

The reason why I'm going for more ME 1 light armor is the fact that I can pull it off almostly entirely with fabric and very few armor pieces.

Other than that, I suggest googling how to build these suits. There are alot of good help guides to get you thinking about how to make it, what materials to use, what the techniques are etc.....

One of my favourite suit designs involves a guy who went a little overboard but references using laser pointers, cut down shoes. How he went about starts at around 1:30

I doubt you'll need to go that far. But it's handy to start getting idea's of how other's go about their designs.

There was one at Blizzon of an Adjutant that looked awesome!

As a nice touch, I'm thinking of painting a paragon symbol on the left hand and a renegade symbol on the right hand...

I would imagine this one wouldn't be that tough or costly to pull off.

Remember to keep the import charges in mind if you're sticking to a budget of £80. I wish you luck!

Everyday Shepard outfit. Looks pretty renegade.
I'll probably need to add an N7 logo somewhere so that people realise that it's Shepard.
Pretty awesome.

Better start pumping iron to bring off the 'ripped' look :)

I wonder where I can get something like this.
I'll add a Mass Effect logo somewhere.

Maybe go for rank insignia instead. Or a medal for the Skyllian Blitz campaign. Hackett and Anderson wear these? See what makes them unique. You could always sew an N7 on there.
