All is in the title :-)

I'm currently replaying the series and when I was at the Normandy destruction scene at the beginning of ME2, I was wondering if this was possible to have Ashley coming to see Shepard when Shepard is female. 
I know Liara is showing up when starting fresh in ME2 or if romanced and that the human companion shows up if romanced. 
So maybe when importing a character from ME1 with no romance ? Or is it Liara too?
Can someone confirm?

Ashley should appear as long you left Kaidan on Virmire and did not romance Liara.

That depends, actually...

If you romance Liara , she will be there.

If you're playing on PS3, Liara will be there(can't confirm this after ME(1) release on PS3)

If you're playing fresh new ME2 the VS Survivor will be the opposite sex of your Shepard(he/she appears in the intro)

If you didn't romance Ashley(Romance only possible for a male Shepard) , left Kaidan on Virmire and didn't romance Liara, Ashley will appear.

Kaidan galloped up in his pink armour for my male Shepard. Guessing it should work for femShep provided you have not romanced Liara.
