Doing another ME2 playthru and decided (partly on accident, partly on purpose) that I didn't really care for Zaeed's loyalty anyway.  After saving the workers and having some tense words with the merc, I decided i didn't like the looks of the Paragon answer that would have won his loyalty.  Another, more forceful seeming answer, looked better.  I was at the point where I expected/wanted a throw down with Zaeed.  The man needed a serious beat down at that point.  I would have liked a cutscene showing Zaeed taking a swing at Shepard and and then taking an uppercut or right cross for his trouble.

Or better yet, wait until after the Suicide Mission to play his loyalty mission, and then you can leave him there to die.

Yeah, I really was jazzed when I read about that option. Made sure to do it on my next playthrough. Very satisfying.

Better that Zaeed dies in ME2 given his ****** poor excuse for an appearance in ME3.

Still, I prefer the more dignified route of Zaeed holding the line in the SM.  Can't bring myself to leave this goddamn hero on Zorya
