This DLC I was so excited for and not let down for the most part. The only thing it let me down in is that I expected the same ME2 hub world for exploring/revisiting of again (even after DLC is completed). Since just the Citadel as the only hub seemed too little. Not to mention that was the best hub in ME2 by far. ... But luckly the Citadel DLC added more hub exploring & chatting with NPCs, even if it is only on the Citadel still. So not as much need for more areas as when this was released.

Anywho, the best parts of the Omega DLC and why it's my fave is very simple;
- the game action is top notch (fave in the whole game & series) + so much of it too!! Image IPB (Man, was I glad it kept going, lol) Seriously, the gameplay of ME series, especially part 3 (I dread part 1 after playing the rest, though), is like probably the most fun thing about this series & what always brings me back (why I mostly play multi-player now after finally giving it a chance, lol, who'd of thunk?). The fact that this has the best gameplay in all ME series more then makes up for not being able to visit ME2's residence/club/shopping area back when released.
- Omega is like the most scenic/beautiful local in all the ME universe to me. And this DLC added so much to Omega that after I came back to it in ME2, it seemed pale in comparison. Some of the views (like the bridge), and even new area like the mine area, are so freakin epic, large, beautiful, and fun to play in. It greatly added to the Omega world & mythos, and can't live without it. So glad this DLC happened.
- the 2 new enemies are very awesome. Especially them mechs.
- female Turian! Wow! What a surpise I never expected or thought of (I never spoil my games prior to playing them. 100% spoiler free is the only way to experience things Image IPB)
- lol, the preacher from ME2 returns. Thought that was a nice touch.
- and of course Aria. Who doesn't love her? ... Oh, and I just found out who plays her! What a shocker & pleasent surprise!

I don't know what I'm missing, but this DLC is like my fave and most wanted part to return to whenever I start another ME series playthrough. So I'm always hearbroken to hear all over the place that so many hate it, and rate it as an example of bad DLC. Sigh. I really hope BioWare makes more like this and not listen to all the bashing it got.

I liked that the Mad Prophet was back, though I wish I could trigger more anti-human blathering again. "Humans are a blight on galactic purity. You sir. You are a blight..." The lack of a new hub world was probably the biggest disappointment, considering how much it cost at release. Another slight quibble I have is the fact that Aria comes back to the Citadel after complaining about how much she hates it there, with a pretty weak reason for coming back.

Aria still at the CItadel is beyond small patatoes, lol.

But, didn't the top notch action/gameplay and even more amasing scenery of Omega as is here in ME3 leave you impressed beyond words?

Leviathin is mighty boring by comparison.

I wasn't really bored by Leviathan. The investigation of Dr. Bryson's lab was a nice change of pace, rescuing Ann Bryson was just enjoyable and brief enough, and the final act was pretty decent. Didn't blow my hair back or anything, but I never skip this DLC when I replay ME3. The part of Omega that stood out for me the most was the environment. I thought it was gorgeously done. Citadel still has the best combat of ME3's DLC's, in my opinion.

FemTurian was the extent of my major enjoyment of Omega and she promptly blew herself up. That being said, I don't think this DLC deserves the hate it gets. It was actually quite good if you happen to like Omega and Aria. I just don't care about Aria or Omega that much. My companions are a lot more interesting to me.

Also, I liked Leviathan a lot.  It's probably overall my favorite DLC.

It was boring. You ran around, shot stuff, finished it and nothing changed with Aria just plonking her ass right back in Purgatory.

What you listed aren't the issues people had with Omega, except.for the fact that its a shooting gallery

The problems with the Omega DLC are:

* They should have fixed the technical graphics glitches in it during Aria's first speech. Those were amateur hour.
* Aria should have left Purgatory after you completed it.
* Omega should have become a hub after you completed it.

Those last two things didn't happen. Other than these I finished it last night for the first time. It's as good any of the main missions in the game. I enjoyed watching Aria choke that bastard. Petrovsky actually expected to be rescued by an Earthborn/Ruthless Shepard? Ha!

Because Dakka Dakka Dakka & Cerberus.
I also personally thought it had really poor lighting so I couldn't exactly enjoy so I couldn't really enjoy any of the supposed beautifully done level design and environments.
I was also severely disappointed at the lack of a Gavorn cameo.

Another thing nobody seems to have ever brought up is that the Vorcha seen in the Omega DLC have different design from those seen outside of the DLC, they look much more feral and animalistic (I'm no fan of every single Vorcha being stereotypically classed as the vermin race to begin with and with them being redesigned to look even more feral in the DLC it just frustrates me for reasons I can't be bothered to delve into).

Um, I was disappointed by the Adjutants aswell, I really liked the concept of them but with the way the DLC built them up I was expecting much tougher enemies rather than the things I'd melted into the floor in just a couple of seconds =[
I'd figured since they were meant to originally be in the game but couldn't be included because they didn't know how to handle the Adjutants random teleporting (as opposed to the Banshee's teleporting that works like they're on set rails) that the AI of the Adjuntant would be a little more difficult in combat given that they'd had longer to work on them.

Agree on all points. I can't say much about the technical glitches since I couldn't do any better (I'm not a techie by any stretch of the imagination! Image IPB)

Aria returning to Purgatory was a bit dumb considering her final speech in the DLC about how she would protect Omega and make it impetenatrable etc etc - with that in mind, shouldn't she have actually stayed on Omega? She's only on the Citadel because that's where her character is programmed to be in the game codes/files whatever (again I don't claim to be an expert!). I suppose you can get away with role-playing. I don't even visit Purgatory after I've done all the quests found there (and I played all the DLCs at the point just before the assault on the Cerberus base).

I would've loved Omega to be a hub - it should've been, considering the money we spend purchasing the DLC. Still, just boot up ME2!

In any case, it's still one of my fave segments to replay in ME3 (after the Citadel DLC).

should have been a hub world after the missions were over

apart from that it was solid

What is this obsession with hubs?

Omega is my favorite DLC and I don't consider myself a gameplay player. I fe;t like I really got to define Shepard based on her opinion of the three characters in a way I didn't in the game at large. Petrovsky is my favorite EU character so seeing and sparing him was delightful. I got a break from a squad I didn't care for, and got to meet Nyreen instead. So this RPer had a great time.

Frankly, having Omega won or not did nothing for the ending. None of the DLC did.

Therefore I purchased NONE of the DLC.

The problem with Omega is none of this other fluff other people have mentioned. A hub is not a good story, and a bug-free game is not a good story. The problem was the problem with most stories - a lack of meaningful themes and conflicts. Also, a failure to introduce significant new challenges and information outside the plan - there are a few hiccups, but Shepard really more or less retakes Omega to plan. And that's boring.

You clearly happen to like Omega ("Omega is like the most scenic/beautiful local in all the ME universe to me"), which is fine, and thus are likely to like the Omega DLC, which is also fine.

I don't know what I'm missing,

The thing is that objectively Omega is just a random former mining colony turned wretched hive which is of no strategic importance to the war effort. Why should I care what about what happens to that rock or Aria? Why should Shepard go another suicidal (ramming) errant to help Aria with gang warfare?

Overall, ME3 DLC just feels like a randomly combined fun action bits which just don't fit into the story (Citadel). If you are the type of person who takes offence at that then you may not think that the ME3 DLC is entirely perfect.

The best shooting gallery in the entire series! That's what's so awesome about it and part as to why it's my fave.

After playing this series back to back non-stop like 5x through without rest since I discovered series last December, the gameplay in Omega stands the test of time/best replay value, gameplay wise, I found (same with atmosphere). While everything else is fading fast.

Leviathin had only like the drone & ship battles with any real meat in them, while everything else was boring fodder (cliff battle), for example... yeah, I had fun tons of fun with Citadel battles too, but only played it once + didn't live up to Omega from that one playthrough. Plus didn't seem as long either, but it kinda was?

Sad to see gameplay is like the last thing on people's minds these days, it seems? ... Same with atmosphere, I guess?

But yeah, my main & only fear is that because of the hate Omega got, they'll cut down on battles in future ME games & DLC (since Omega excelled at this and people hate it, lol)... I really, really fear this, cause the gameplay in ME series, especially Omega DLC, if so much fun. Plus combating at it's best in that setting is pure bliss too.

It pains me to say this but Davod actually has the resemblance of a point here.  No new hub and buggy speeches are not why Omega sucked.  Omega came as advertised.
