I just wanted to know how I could upload my own personal avatar? If I can't, where can I find the gif avatars that I keep seing around the forum?

Yeah, it's a major pain in the ass that most of us I'm sure would rather happily be able to do without, but after the first couple/few uploads you'll be able to do it quickly and effortlessly. If you have any questions or something goes wrong, ask me or others with custom avvies in the thread, or leave a comment on the blog itself. The blog maker will respond. Usually.
Also if things go south and you're unable to upload an avvy, for whatever reason I'll upload one for you, I've done so before for others many times. We'd need to take it to PM's though for that, just send a friend request my way, should it come to that and I'll see what I can do.
