I guess, but you could always take the core out of a Marauder (My blade of choice in the old days, I still have Blood Bringer around somewhere), or the Vendetta swords, and use them.
(I pick them because they had the best cores back when I still collected, I have broken many peoples Shadow and Thunder Furies in my time with the Marauder)
They are great for the shaped blades they are, but Gambol is a lot wider than any of them. The center would be good, but the ends would be a little floppier.
Technically you could use more than one core, but when you put it like that the Balsa wood would be the better option.
