Because for example, Finn from Adventure Time ages in real time, but has had one on screen birthday (which is in November I believe). As he's 15 now, but was 12 when the show started.
Something I deem better than Pokemon with Ashs inexplicable immortality (I hate crap like that)

RWBY needs more Maid outfits, so they have fitting uniforms to keep RWBY clean of all unwanted smut.
(Which also helps because Maid outfits+scrubbing means bowing down, means Maid outfit skirts going up, meaning smut, meaning unclean, meaning more need to clean, meaning more Maid and scrubbing, you get the jist of it)
