Ahh, in that case I'm sure there is a litany of stuff out there, good or bad. I don't read them personally so I can't point to specifics that are awesome or terrible, but I bet the RWBY tumblr tag will net you some results.

Yeah, about that ... I don't do Tumblr and do not intend to change that in the foreseeable future.

Though thanks for the consideration. I'll just have to get lucky with others in here to point me at directions. Will start with ClonesLegacy's fanfic.

Or scar him for life.

I thought that was the point with fanfics and fan art

What ones have you been looking at recently?

Blood Rose and Heated Excitement chased down with gore art?

None, that's the point. :P

Well, it goes both ways. But it is a side effect. >.>

Interesting enough, though it certainly isn't something that blows anyone away with it's story so far. Really so far the only thing the show has is an interesting worldbuilding (process) and characters with potential (emphasis on the potential, so far they aren't much to be honest). The trailers had another thing entirely that made the show interesting, the combat choreographies, but I haven't seen anything like in the trailers yet, so I hope that season/volume 2 can deliver on that account. The Nevermore/Deathstalker fight really was the peak so far and didn't compare to the elaborate choreographies of each fight in the trailers.

+1. There's definitely potential, but it isn't quite fleshed out in a meaningful way yet. Jaune gets a bit of a dilemma and blake gets a bit of history near the end, but that's about it. The banter never really grabs me. Outside of 8 and 16, the action isn't mindblowing.

Done with the first chapter for "Remembrance Embers". Can't yet comment on stuff like worldbuilding until I've read the rest, but there's a couple things I can say already. First off, there's a couple wrong (and some just poor) wordings ("a scythe blade was impaled through him"). Probably a matter of vocabulary base (or general language proficiency if you're not a native English speaker). A synonym dictionary is something I always recommend to people who want to write. There's also a couple capitalization, grammatical errors and some misspellings, so proof reading is also something that should improve, best done by someone else, the human mind tends to overlook mistakes it made itself and it can be mindblowing what kind of eggregious mistakes someone can overlook!

Tension building is decent. The first chapter builds enough to make me want read some more.

Hope it helps.

Then they succeeded, since those were the two episodes they intended to be action heavy. I want them to keep the action at bay so that when it does come around, it blows me away, rather than the show getting oversaturated with combat.

Jaunes story arc was blander and more boring than drying white paint.

And it hurt my eyes just as much.

The other problem is the three writers who barely were able to flesh out 17 or so characters, or even the 10 main characters are going to cram in EVEN MORE for Volume two.

I do not mind that. One of the best methods to flesh out characters is to create interactions, so more characters to interact with can, if properly orchestrated, improve overall character writing quite a bit. It can also fail miserably though.

I haven't remade the polls from the BSN in this thread BECAUSE of the number of characters introduced, hahaha.

I think they should stick with the less is more approach, but they're introducing a LOAD of characters. Too many, in my opinion. Flesh out RWBY, JNPR, and a couple villains, let the other characters come later.

Loads are being blown early. :P

No, I'm fluent in English, just happens with long blocks of text. My ADHD doesn't help when re-reading stuff lol.

I've been told I need a Beta reader back from another project, but I do wish to release things as soon as they're done since I have a terrible release schedule anyway. I dunno.

Thanks.

Wait...we actually agree for once?

Our opinion on this has been known for months. We were saying the same thing back when JNPR was getting attention but Yang got jack.

Since episodes are now confirmed to be around 11-12 minutes of length or more on average, and Best Character Yang has been said to get attention this time, I'm not too worried. But still.

I think they need to be kept in check just a bit. They have great character ideas, but they're finding ways of introducing most or all of them now rather than over time. There's so many characters to pay attention to, people get confused.

Hell, there's the many characters that already exist, the many that will be introduced, returning characters that didn't get much attention before(for example, the Yellow Trailer Malachite twins), etc etc

By the end of Volume 2 they'll have had enough characters to fill five volumes. Course, that is an assumption on my part, but I'm just following trends.

I think a big reason this is happening is because when you introduce one character, three more are usually lurking around the corner, making up their team. Ex- Velvet, Cardin, etc etc

Right there, you have two characters of note, but because of that, a total of EIGHT characters now exist to be given attention to or utilized in some fashion.

Mental, how they're gonna pull this off.

It's kinda like Angel Beats in a way, but without the series being cut in half.

Angel Beats! was fine in that as it introduced characters, we still got to know enough about them to distinguish them and have a blast when they were around;course I would've liked a little more(13 episodes was all it had after all), that show was tears of laughter and sadness. It pulled it off.

With RWBY, we'll see.

I bring it up because the series was originally going to be 26 episodes. So the other characters like TK and such would get the same time and attention Yui had in episode 10.

But alas...No. But still pulled off a good show with what it had.

And that theme tho!

I'm worried about RWBY honestly.

Agreed with that - if it were nothing but action, it'd likely resemble something from the Power Rangers XD If they can improve the quality of said banter and storyline, that'd work well.

The intention may be more of an "extra" thing than fully-built characters. That's my guess.

I have the whole Angel Beats! theme song favorited on Youtube. Speaking of which, earlier today I made my way through the Volume One RWBY Soundtrack.

Gonna give the Score a listen later, most likely. /dat build up

They'd be generic extra models in that case.

I'm pretty sure they are honestly trying to have a large cast because representation gets you in good with the Tumblrites.

That is my assumption. Though they have clearly put work into Velvet's team, rather than Cardin's.

Let's not forget Suns.

Which why he gets a team I don't understand. The impression I got outta him was he was a drifter. Just going place to place.

I got the same impression, and was confused when I saw him standing next to others. I'll wait and see though. Might not be so obvious.

If he does have a true actual team it is perfectly okay and all excuses should be made for it as long as Mr. Gavino Free is voice acting one of his partners. hahaha

Well, maybe Neptune (If he's a goofy 4th wall-breaker I know my theory is right) is voiced by him. He seems important enough that he gets to ride the ****** seat on Yang's motorcycle.

I don't know if I want Gavin breaking the 4th wall as much as I want him making crackpot theories and ideas that make no logical sense
