I'm more interested in Velvet than any of her companions(I'm biased because Caiti is awesome, a good friend, and I want to hear more of her VO work).

 

So I like the theories regarding how the Velveteen Rabbit story might affect her fighting style, and the several styles she may end up using.

I have this dumb thought that Yang inherited her semblance from Summer Rose simply because her name is Summer. Which would mean Ruby got her semblance from her dad if that were the case. :L

Yeah, same here  when they first show her in season one.. I was like yep..that's a side character which they are going to introduce a lot more. if the show gets pick up for more season.   The winning clothes contest with was really neat and they had some other choices i was big fan  of.

  but the winning one looks really cool. hmm I was thinking she was going to be up close fighting or an archer at first..but yeah after reading up stuff.  recalling the whole old story she base on.  magic seems the right choice.. hmm. the whole toys idea sounds fun  .I thought maybe she would have staffs in her chest..   someone how the power of each one would be something from the old stories.

It is not uncommon to call adoptive people by the familiar terms for a family like dad in this specific example. Her calling her possibly adoptive father "dad" wouldn't necessarily mean he'd have to be a biological parent.

 

 

Conversely, if Ruby's biological father didn't die too early, Yang might have met him too and Ruby referring to her "dad" might just mean her biological father, not an adoptive parent, i.e. Yang's father.

He said Rubys mother specifically.

He could've said

"Summer is their mother, but Yang and Ruby are Half-Sisters"

But he didn't. They share the same father.

This isn't a debate when I have photographic evidence that negates everything you just said.

Also Half-Siblings=/=Adopted.
