I actually am an archer in reality. So if a character needs to take an arrow to the skull, if anything I should be the one taking the shot.

No weapons are easy to use. All require their own intricacies and minute details to use effectively. Besides, the only reason I don't use crossbows is because I've never picked one up to learn and practice with;I've just gone with a longbow and compound bow.

 

Far as RWBY goes, the show has yet to feature an archer, right? I can't think of one yet.

Easy to use comparatively, but way more maintenance and by Pyrrha are they hard to make.

Crossbows are pretty easy to learn. My dad used one. I prefer recurve over longbow since longbows get stress fractures easy. Compounds are well compounds.

 

I don't think they have introduced a long range fighter yet in general.

I has a slide out scope, and one would consider Weiss a long-range due to launching shards of ice at the Nevermore. Or Cinder. Or Glynda.

 

Or any of the "magic" users.
