I feel like I know half this episode, and I haven't even watched it yet.

I'm laughing, but it's the pre anger laugh because, to be honest, RWBY feels like it might disappoint me more and more as time goes on.

Please, prove me wrong. This isn't how it's supposed to go. I'd rather go back to the look and episode lengths of Volume 1 than have the story quality roller coaster we have right now.

Okay, that's all I have to say about the negative side of RWBY as a show.

C'mon other part of new RWBY episode, give me something to praise!

You can always tell that Monty.

Though I'm not overmuch content with how slowly the story progresses. It feels more like a sitcom clawing it's way along a general idea of a story. We get a lot of foreshadowing, but the actual links are still far off. It's like someone's holding back a puppy that wants to race across a field. It wants to go off bounding, but can't.

Like I said, RWBYs devolving into Tame Degrassi and fast.

Not until after Jessica Nigri signs my Blu-Ray.

Sensible enough.

One thing I'm looking forward to at least, someone giving pyrrha the peptalk she needs to finally confront her own feelings. It's obviously hinted at (by Nora of all people, let's see how long it will take HER to get around her feelings, oh the irony).

I'll say, for as long as they deliver awesome fights, I'm content. If they manage to get their bearings and start going into a good flow with a good story it will be a nice bonus on top!

See it's the problem I had with Legend of Korras first and second seasons.

Too much romance and not enough good storyline/Action.

You can have Romantic Drama in your work. But if it's a show 110% sold off its fight scenes then your misrepresenting your work, and deceiving your audience. Some may like the end product. But most people don't like being jerked around.

Call it "The Iron Man 3 Factor".

Last Airbender had Romantic Drama, but it never dropped everything to spend a bunch of time on it. And in the long run Katara and Aangs relationship was naturally built up and well executed. It being paced nicely since it was a sub-plot. With the main focus being Aang learning the elements and liberating the world from the Fire Nation.

In RWBY we're taking time out of the season to beat you over the head with Ship teasing. When we could be doing so much more.

Watched it. I am conflicted about it.

Spoiler

I'm going to keep watching but it's getting very close to a show I wait for all episodes to be out before watching instead as soon as possible.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Almost everything about it was the pinnacle of entertainment. From the scene about forcing Blake to go to the dance, to the scene with Jaune confessed his love for Ren. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of a catnip joke after the laser pointer bit. The only thing that would have made this episode perfect would be the whole cast of the show doing the safety dance in a strike witches cosplay.

10/10~Game Informer

(secretly receives $20 under the table...)

I'm not sure I'm liking where RWBY is going after the past 2 episodes. It's all becoming VERY predictable, full of cliches, packed to the brim with unnecessary shipping, and let's not forget, full of scenes that make things last MUCH longer than necessary (ie. Blake and the laser pointer). I'm sorry, but someone needs to dispatch the EPA to Rooster Teeth Studios. They must've been shale fracking nearby, because the gas has gotten into Rooste...wait, someone made that joke somewhere else already? Oh...ok, I'll just move on. Either way, I'll hold out hope that the show turns around and redeems itself soon, say by the end of the season, but I'm going to stop caring about watching it if it just keeps following this path. From what I've heard some people saying, it's becoming more and more like an unbearable version of Strike Witches. IGN RATES IT 10/10!!! -.-

Anybody else get the feeling that the volume 2 opening theme explains episode 5 and 6 reactions in a nutshell.

I've certainly considered it time to say goodbye.

I'll reserve judgement till next week in the hope Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury start their evil plan of evil.

*Read this in a goofy voice*

Or they'll spike the punch bowl and wacky shenanigans will ensue!

I hope we get to see Ozpin fight and not have Jaune's semblance magically show up after Pyrrha is attacked.

Pyrrha loses her semblance or maybe everyone. I want something at least that tragic to happen.

Not one of my favorites. I'm not opposed to Romance at all, but it isn't really my kind. I liked the Story Flashback with Yang, though.

The second half (semi-)confirmed my theories that Final Fantasy 8 had some inspiration for RWBY.

Because Monty needs to take inspiration from a game that has the reveal all the characters went to the same orphanage straight up unadulterated Muppet Babies style. And they forgot that little fact because...

Actually that makes RWBYs recent decline in writing quality make ALOT of sense.

Why did Yang even bring Ruby?

No logical reason, just to make the story more "dangerous".

I dunno at first I assumed it was like Ruby revealing her semblance or something but then she just did nothing. Qrow (who we really need to ****** meet since he keeps popping up) is the one who saved them somehow knowing where they would be.

Honestly that's my biggest problem with the whole thing. Yang and Ruby have identical backstories.  Their mother is either missing and or dead. Yang is trying to find out what happened to her mother while Ruby is I dunno. Trying to get revenge is all I can get out of it.

They could do something with it. Like have conspiracy going on behind the scenes putting people with strong aura or semblances through trauma to make them more powerful and that could be why the back stories are so similar but that's just a random on the spot theory I came up with this second.

There's some potential, but the way we're going I feel like it's going to be very underwhelming.

That's why I said I was thinking of waiting for for each season to be done before watching. I'm sick of running with half informations and theories. Next week is sort of the decider on that. I still enjoy the show. Hell I wouldn't be here if I didn't, I just feel like I may enjoy it more as a thing to binge on.

The first 2 episodes gave me a glimmer of hope, and painting the town was great... though it has more to do with story build-up than, you know, actual story. The main reasons I go into RWBY have more to do with Humor and the Action Sequences. Can't say I've seen them dissapoint me greatly in either department.

Yeah. Next weeks the decider for me too. My patience has run thin.

Both of those things are fine in the show. Actions ok, Humor has a few chuckle worthy moments.

But I'm so sick of Jaune, he's not interesting, funny, or likable. And any storyline with him devolves into your everyday High School show.

Something I was scared was going to happen since July 18th 2013.

And all the ship teasing this season has really gotten outta hand. Not just BumbleBY, but all of them. These past 2 episodes have been a belated Arkos tease.

Finally, I want to punch whoever decided the laser pointer gag needed to go on for as long as it did. It lost its charm FAST!

It's called padding kids. You should never do it.

The laser pointer thing was just a way to stretch out a episode with as little animation as possible. I know the tricks I've seen tons of shows do similar stuff

Lets not forget the laser pointed in such a way Blake would've seen Yang at some point.
But I forgot, the characters can only see what the camera sees.
Last time I saw something like that was in Adam Sandlers Jack and Jill.

There's nothing wrong with going up to a person, and saying you need to talk in private. You don't need quirky high jinx.
