I just realized, this happened in the Emerald Forest too. Yang attracted Ursa on her own, Blake was in the area, she could have been trying to shake them. Weiss was attracting those Beowolves to begin with.

 

But please, if you are going to bring up topics that are that old, please, quote them. It will make it look less like you are ignoring the conversation at hand. That was too forward wasn't it? Sorry.

Also, Emerald Forest isn't much an argument supporting that thesis. Yang could have just as easily encountered that Ursa because ... well, she was shouting the whole time?

 

And maybe the Grimm just noticed team RWBY+Oobleck because they were standing clear in the middle of a street when the Grimm trotted past?

 

I think this is a clear-cut example of the fandom taking a little in-universe speculation and trying to apply it to circumstances that are an entirely different matter. Another theory why Oobleck didn't ask Ruby about her motivation: he knows Ozpin let her join Beacon despite her young age and simply trusts his character judgement.

 

 

Whether Grimm are actually attracted towards emotional conflicts and whether that is in any way relevant to whom Oobleck chose to ask is pure speculation whose alternatives involve a lot less meta-argumentation. Over-analyzing. Not to say that it has to be wrong, but at this moment with our current knowledge it's entirely premature.

I wasn't saying that to mean that you shouldn't be ignoring it, I have no issue, you could bring up a conversation that is a year old and I'd still pick it up. I just prefer a little more of a smoother transition. I'm not being hostile about it, trust me, I've been told I'm one of the nicest people on this site.

Jeez man, we were having fun in a topic with relatively little postings as of late. If you go back to the beginning, we started on topic and kind of deluded into the madness that is inside. I will try to stay away from that in the future.

My answer to why Oobleck omitted Ruby because she had already answered the question before it was asked. "Well that's why we're here..to make it better." Gravi's theory about them drawing Grimm due to their own deep-seated issues holds some water though, as observed by Ruby who was in the mood to feed turkey to Zwei.
