I wouldn't say "aquired", more struck a deal so they are financially tied.
 
Here's some details
 

During the last three years Rooster Teeth has grown at a crazy pace. We’ve been releasing more videos than at any time in our history. In fact, on a per minute count, we now regularly put out more content every week than we used to in an entire year! Of course quantity is not the most important metric, and of all our accomplishments I’m most proud of the fact that we strive to improve the quality of all our shows every single day.

All of this growth has been amazing and exhilarating, but it’s also made us realize we need more support if we are going to take our company and our community even further. Burnie and I have been searching for a partner that could help Rooster Teeth to develop and grow, while allowing us to remain true to our core ideals and principles.

Today, I’m extraordinarily happy to tell you that we have found that partner, and we can announce that Rooster Teeth will now be a part of the Fullscreen family.

We’ve known the amazing team at Fullscreen for several years, and we are confident that they have the vision and integrity to empower & enable us take Rooster Teeth to greater heights than we ever could have achieved solely on our own. This is a company that is paving the way for the future of media and entertainment, and it’s a future that we want to play a huge role in. Together our possibilities are endless.

And Burnie clarified that there is a deal between RT and Fullscreen, but since both are private companies, they aren't likely to clarify what the deal is.

 

So partnered/acquired/acquired as a partner is about as far as you're gonna go.

We're mostly nice to it. Unless it fucks up. (jaune episodes season 1 dance episodes season 2) We are much more passive than the likes of the escapist though.

I finally got around to finishing RWBY season 2. I'll definitely be picking up the DVD for it as long as it's as reasonably priced as the first season was. Great season overall. I like the story direction, the fights as usual were spectacular, good characterization (TBH I felt Blake and Ruby got most of it in season 1, but this season felt a bit more well rounded developing all 4 characters) and we got to see a ton of new big players on the antagonists side, some of which are surprisingly competent (like the pink/black haired girl, dayaaamn) The more consistently long episodes were also a nice improvement from season 1.

 

Can't say I have any major complaints about the season as a whole. There was a couple moments that I felt they may have reused the same character assets a bit too much, like one scene during the prom had me laughing quite hard due to the fact you could see like 4-5 of the same character models in the crowd for every extra, but I still find that a small step up from using the shaded out models.

 

My favorite character is still Blake, with Ruby as a close second.

 

Looking forward to seeing season 3.

Blake really grew on me this season.  I am not sure know if its because her VA really upped her game, or because she had a bigger role to play or both.
