I remember having watched his Dead Fantasy videos before he eventually found himself at Rooster Teeth. May he rest in piece as he was a remarkable talent in the animation world and that same world is so much less with his passing now.

Despite knowing he was in critical condition this sort of news is never easy to deal with. There is no right thing to say. I want to say his work and the effect he had on people will live on but I don't know, feels cheap yknow?

Its alright if you're unsure of how to respond, guys. Best thing we can do right now is unite and talk with each other. Its what Monty would want us to do.

Well, that sucks. Social me gives condolences to his family and friends, egoistic me wonders what that means for RWBY.
So the cause was an allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure ... aren't patients tested for potential allergic reactions against medications prior to undergoing the procedure?
If this was due to an unknown or rare condition that messed up the test screening, I would suggest that any surplus money left over after paying the hospital from the fan fundraising go towards studying the condition that caused it, or maybe an allergy awareness group, just thinking out loud.

I'm not even thinking about what this means for RWBY. I'm still shellshocked.
But if this means RWBY goes on hiatus, I'm all for it. I'm sure Monty would want RWBY to continue, but handle it right.

You know he touched a lot of people with his charm, hard work, and creative mind when this is trending worldwide on twitter.

Compassion comes in all shapes and forms; Sometimes words aren't enough, or even necessary, you can show your appreciation for a person in many different ways. I don't know much less or more about what to say in regards to Monty passing away, anymore than I did when say Robin Williams passed away a while back. All you can do is acknowledge your appreciation of their presence, the effect they had on you -- I think that's always an excellent way to celebrate an artist or anyone who touched you in some fashion, and it doesn't feel quite as cardboard cut-out as others might want to make it.

Monty is legitimately the reason all of us interacted with each other for 30,000+ posts in here. He brought us together, even for just this one thread.

Too soon ...
Given Monty's death, that is the reaction I get for a couple things about RWBY that are currently floating through my mind. I'm not the best empathizing and without any direct cues thanks to the faceless internet medium, I'd kindly ask that you guys somehow let me know when it's okay for me to ask RWBY related questions that tie in with Monty's previous involvement and how that could turn out from now on.

I don't really know what to say either.
That something so small as an medical oversight can topple so much...
Yeah. That hits close to home.
RIP, man.

May as well do it now. Again, we need to talk. He wouldn't want us to put our discussions on hiatus because of his allergies.
Dude would literally look at us and go, "Guys. Seriously. I'm okay. RWBY lives."

I don't think its wrong to ask or wonder about it. I do think they'll continue on with the series (I hope so at least) I just think its going to take time for them to figure things out

Mkay then:
Obvious things first, assuming RWBY goes on, what of Ren? He was voiced by Monty. Will they try and switch VAs, will the character mirror reality and die, or otherwise disappear from the show? What of JNPR in any of the latter cases? They aren't the core, but still an integral part of the RWBYverse that was getting major spotlight time.

Don't get me started on Ren. This is why RWBY could use a hiatus. That is one HARD call to make.

Hadn't taken the time to watch season 2 yet cause I've been distracted by other things. I suppose getting to it now, in honor of Monty and his brainchild would be the better option. Take care of yourselves, guys. *hugs*
