That was a really great tribute.
It sure is.

Mhm.
Props to the RT team for being strong enough to talk about it so soon. You can tell how strong the bond the guys have, and it's pretty heartwarming.

Also, Meg and Ashley have uploaded a few videos today on The Know channel, and they're wearing black(in mourning, obviously). They are visibly still affected by the events, and you can tell it'll take a while before they are fully composed and back in action.
But Monty would want them to put smiles back on their faces and go full steam ahead, so we'll hopefully see that as soon as they're able.

I can't blame them for still being affected. Hopefully they can find a way to be all right with it, in time. It's tough to do.
And Monty has already started on his third project in the next life, probably.

The afterlife's gonna have some beast ass animated fight scenes, believe that.
And he's STILL gonna be down here working on Volume 3. And 4. And 5.
He's not giving up on RWBY. Ascending isn't gonna stop him from doing his part on his biggest project.
I expected three and a half minutes of Nora singing *boop* ... I r disappoint.
Monty's gonna boop us from Nora's perspective now. That makes me smile.
Well, Monty was a celebrity, say the rockstar of animators so to speak. Lots of people grieve when their favourite rockstar dies, so no big surprise here.
Totally a rockstar of animation. No question there.
And with Warner Bros Japan getting RWBY set up to head over there, Monty's made history.
They uploaded it.
Not that I have any interest in the series (I know people that do however), but what's going to happen with the series after the creator died?

Considering he wasn't the only one involved with RWBY, it's pretty likely it will keep running, albeit they probably need a new animator to cover for Monty's part of the workload (so make that two or three animators in fact). And the choreographies for future animations will probably not be as good.

Ah.
Well at least fans of the show shouldn't be too worried. Unless they go throw a tantrum because it's "not the same" with the animations.

Monty was already hard at work with the RWBY development team on Volume 3, and he had already over the years given people he trusted some of his ideas of how he would like the series to move forward. He set up some plot lines for future volumes, saved characters for later, etc etc. That shouldn't be too difficult.
But like Gray said, the question of, "What would Monty do?" is gonna come up A LOT now.
Monty was the type of person who'd be pissed if due to his passing, work on RWBY was halted. He wouldn't accept that;he'd want them to move full steam ahead, and let RWBY be the platform for the creativity of others. Basically, he'd be fine with the story eventually going the direction of someone else's imagination, given he's not here to direct it himself anymore.
As for animation, he was special and one of a kind;they cannot replace him, and everything he brought to the table animation wise through those kick ass fight scenes is now lost to us mortals. The fight scenes may not be as good as they were before, but thats on to the existing RWBY team as well as anyone they may hire to continue the workload.
As far as RWBY's expansion and exposure goes, I imagine it will continue to be a long lasting franchise, much as Red vs Blue has become. RWBY will be an American anime making its way to Japan thru Warner Bros Japan sometime in the near future. Its unfortunate Monty didn't get to live to see it happen, but he'll be dancing in joy about it from up above.
So RWBY will keep on keepin' on, with Monty as its spiritual guide, rather than physical one.

Couldn't agree more. Its fairly clear that that's the mindset they'll follow, given they refused to even miss more than one podcast as they felt it wouldn't adhere to Monty's example. So its pretty much guaranteed the show will go on, somewhere down the line.
So I really wish certain elements of the fandom would read between the lines and understand that.
Far too many have been nagging away at people at RT for answers. Seeing Lindsay and others having to ask people to cool down with the "what happens now" questions is extremely aggravating.
As far as I'm concerned, they get all the time in the world to even start thinking about that. Hell, take a year out from it for all I care. They just took the hardest hit they possibly could; however long they need to be left to come to terms with that is all that matters now.
Its great that we can discuss this here and we should, but they needn't be asking them about it.
A big one is this- Monty was the Director of Animation;so who takes on that mantle? That is a HARD role to fill. I can't imagine what's going to come of it.
Monty was in the process of training Kerry for supervising animation during the Production of Volume 2 Diaries, so I suppose that will fall to him in some manner, or a high class animator from within the animation team.
