"I just watched the yellow trailer (again) and noticed how Yang's eyecolor changes @4:58 from her supposedly natural violet/grey to a deep red.

That was in the Yellow trailer from the very beginning. Yeah, her eyes are Lilac and they turn red when she goes...Super Saiyan.
By the way, if this is the closest we'll get to a female Super Saiyan, I'm okay with this.

I thought it was kinda silly the whole "ermagerd, mah hair!" SSJ2 moment. I mean it's not like making fun of it, like Spaceballs. Meh.

Well, consider that Roosterteeth is ALWAYS making teh funnies.
RWBY is naturally gonna have some humor. Or a lot of humor.
Sometimes, stupidly funny humor. Like Miles saying at RTX that there's a bar or something whatever called, "From Dust till Dawn" lolololol
If anyone's expecting RWBY to not have the typical Roosterteeth style humor in it, they'll be in for a surprise, I imagine.

I'm saying the tenor of the humor seems different. More reveling in the cliche girliness as humor rather than making a parody of it.

And I like how Filament jumped straight to SSJ2 instead of just SSJ.
Though Yang's aura/energy is different in that she gets flames, while super saiyans get electricity.

Eh, to be honest I didn't see it as girly. As a guy with long hair, I know that if in a fight someone ripped out some of it and was standing there grinning, I'd be pissed the hell off, turn SSJ2, and then punch them in the face through glass before falling out of a window and landing perfectly fine.
It stops there though since I don't have a sister.

Well, of the four girls, Yang seems to be the only one with a real aura/energy thing going on that she can tap into at will(probably with the use of Dust).
Ruby relies on her weapon. Weiss too, although Weiss is absolutely FAST AS HELL, as fast if not faster than Ruby when Ruby's using her special ammunition.
As a matter of fact, Weiss was using friggen Instant Transmission. I was impressed.
Blake was using her weapon pretty well but didn't show much outside of that, since friggen Adam was stealing the show.
We'll see, the girls have GOT to have more to them than what we saw in the trailers.
I mean hell, people who saw the first episode said its MUCH better.

I don't know what this "dust" is, but the rest of theirs are collapsible and have a conventional firing mechanism (and the 'upgrade ammo' for the scythe has a kind a techy hazard symbol on it, like a radiation warning) while hers shoots ice and binding tentacles and makes sky platforms.
