I can believe in dust.
I mean, look at all the crazy stuff we can do with things in our own world.
Metal. Melt it and you can burn something to nonexistence. Shape it solid and sharp? You get a weapon that can pierce and slash things to death.
Shape it around? You get rings. The rings I wear around my fingers are made of tungsten carbide- which is used as armor piercing ammunition.
There are such amazing things we can do with so little in our world, I can believe in things like dust having effects like it does in the RWBY-verse.

lol we're talking about actual believability in a setting with batzookas and sniper rifle scythes, ok.
I don't think they mean you to take it this seriously. When I say it's not believable that's not necessarily to its detriment given the tenor of the setting and the action sequences and all that. It's over the top by design.

Fair enough, but it seems that it is hydrogen.

After watching all four trailers, I can now say I am goddamn excited to see this. What amazes me the most is that this animation resembles a stock cgi animation program from japan, however, it's done 5000000000000000 times more fluidly than I've ever seen it done using such methods. The fight animation is what's most amazing to me. It takes a lot to make characters look good when moving quickly, and for them to move in a convincing manner. This managed to do both very well.
I am fully looking forward to watching this, but amongst my largest wonders is something regarding the setting. Mainly, what the hell happened to the moon?
