Agreed. FF8 practically has to be an inspiration for RWBY. Replaying the game a few months ago, I'd forgotten how much the early sections have that Quasi-Futuristic Academy/High School feel to it. The dialogue is about as cheesy, though not quite as silly. They also both have a panache for going over-the-top in terms of Weapon-Play.

Yes, yes it does. And it only gets more cheeseball. Between the mobsters, crazy weapons, and everything else, it's absurd beyond belief.
