Finally caught up on RWBY! :3 Jaune is still my favorite, followed by Nora, and with Pyrrha and Ruby tied for third.

If there is one thing I hope for soon its more episodes featuring Velvet and Faunus in general.

I'm not sure what the reviewer found odd about Ruby's insights into leadership since she tells Jaune pretty much what Ozpin told her. It's true that we haven't seen her assimilate that to the point she should be comfortable counseling others. I agree it was a wise choice to skip Jaune's trials but, at the same time, it makes the blackmail setup kind of pointless.

While I enjoy watching Jaune develop as a character, hopefully this particular story arc will be rounded up next episode and we can get some character development from team RWBY's members, because they desperately need some.

Thing is, the season's only got three episodes left. 14, 15, and 16.

Its got to build up to something else. Which sucks, because I wish Blake and Yang got more time, but I guess this is as much as they could fit into barely over an hour.

Maybe if they ever get to do longer episodes in the future...

Not as Bad as Jaunedice part 2, but not great either.

Here is the largest problem I have with the Jaune kind of owning the second half of the first volume:

RWBY is a new animated series from Rooster Teeth, directed by Monty Oum. The story focuses on a group of four girls in their first year at a legendary academy where they will learn to fight monsters.

I came to a realization while playing GTA Online with Legacy the other day.

Jaune is the Gohan of RWBY. Gojaune.

After the first season's up, I want someone to give me numbers for the amount of time specific characters were on screen.

If Jaune beats members of Team RWBY, and he will, then thats a bit much. I don't want the show to be the Ruby and Jaune show, but if it is, I feel it should have a different name.

Good thing for us then that both Goku and Vegeta remained main characters and both are vastly superior in skill to him, as noted in Battle of Gods.

She'll make a return someday, but not today.

Anyways, Jaune is the character that needed initial development the most, so it sort of makes sense. After rewatching the episodes, it occurs to me that they tried to make the first few episodes character portriats. So the characters are fine, for the most part. Blake works best as mysterious...and spinny.

Blake's the one character that has an excuse in that she's the mysterious one.

Ruby and Weiss are fine, but Yang hasn't received nearly enough attention. Same for Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren.

I think they made the mistake of introducing too many characters too quickly. Its easy to know the characters from each other because of the weekly breaks between episodes, but watching it with fresh eyes from start to finish, it may be overwhelming.

Yeah, I don't really think it would be as much of an issue if the episodes for longer. Introducing all of the teams in season one definitely makes sense storytelling wise, but it's like you said: people's favorite characters being put on the backburner will be frustrating; especially when there's 5 minutes of screen time to share a week.
