Anyways, after watching the first few episodes, I've realized that there is no way Blake can be a Faunus, UNLESS she is hiding the ears WITHIN the bows.
She still has cat like reflexes though, so there's that.

I want a RWBY deck of cards. Yang is Hearts, Blake is Spades, Ruby is Diamonds and Weiss is Clubs
It works.
Not much of a Ruse if you're making a mistake like that. The Mad Hanar wrote...

She needs candles to read her books. Therefore she can't see in dark. Theory ruined!
(unless she just wants everyone to think that.)

The Blake of Spades, The Blake of Spades, yeah. I wouldn't mind a game of poke her. Wizard of Oz reference is possible, but I doubt that was the intent of the developers.I want a RWBY deck of cards. Yang is Hearts, Blake is Spades, Ruby is Diamonds and Weiss is Clubs. It works.

Actually, cats and other animals can not see in the dark. Nightvision is impossible. What cats and other animals have are light reflecting parts in their eyes that enhance the amount of light they can absorb, hence making seeing in near dark much better. It's why cats hunt in the twilight and not as commonly depincted during the night. In perfect dark, the sense of vision is always useless. That's where senses like hearing, smell and touch along with the more exotic senses of sonar, heat and electricity sensibility come into play.
So yeah, Blake couldn't read in the dark, even if she wanted to, of course she would need candles. Hypothetically, she wouldn't need nearly as much light from the candles compared to others but, but it's not like you can just dial down an open flame ...
The more you know.
