I think Isaiah was going for a fencing-type thing, at least thats what I think was in his head at the time
Or In the case he watches Game of Thrones and saw A Song of Ice and Fire's Arya, something like that might've been running through his head.

What Grav probably meant is that stance is pretty disadvantagous for fencing (though whether it's a straight or curved blade is pretty unimportant in this case).
The way that body is positioned, with it's low center and lack of stability, let alone that nonsensical way of holding her blade the way she does pretty much just ensures she has maximum reaction delay and minimal force projection for a stab, slash or parade. A simple downward cut would be hard to counter and evading to the sides is pretty much impossible with that stance without opening up herself to a follow-up attack.
But meh, it's artistic shenanigans and looks cool, so whatever.
