The reservation I have to talk about dust is that my SOP is to assume that any and all fictional world with a distinct magnitude of similarities or lack if significant differences conderning culture or perspective can be held to the same conceptional bias as we find them in our own reality.
The reason being that unless the given world is populated with a different form of perspective or cultural paradigm, it is logical to assume that the authors of said world operate with the same principles of perspective and understanding as we do.
Hence there'd be no reason to call something "dust" if by all means that presented culture would experience the same dust as form of fine dirt. And naming that which we perceive as dust "mystical energy source element" is counterintuitive world-making, which I doubt would be a mistake someone as experienced in writing as the folks over at Roosterteeth would hardly make unless it served a deliberate effort to confuse the viewers.

Maybe "dust" is just short for "pixie dust." There, now it is consistent with a real world paradigm around the usage of that particular word.
