You have to establish authority by clearly defining no-nos. For example keep him off tables. NO cats on the table, no paws on the table, no sniffing on stuff that's on the table.
Be clear about what Clones is allowed to do and what not and be consistent in your reprimands. You can do with a water sprayer, though that's negative feedback and should thus be limited to punish bad behaviour. Better train him in good behaviour by giving treats when he's listening to you.
Also, you can train a cat if you're patient and it's a good way to assert the dominant role without negative repercussions. Easy stuff like coming when called, then more advanced like sitting or lying down on command. For a more play oriented task, you can train Clones in fetching. Works decent enough with cats.
The big advantage with training is the Clones will associate commands with treats, rather than with punishment and will be more forthcoming when called upon.
