Characters that I feel will do poorly in a 1v1:

Blake (she just doesn't seem powerful)
Pyrrha (more long ranged oriented)
Ruby (swinging that large weapon around leaves her open)

Blake was fogged by anger at Roman, wasn't at her full ability and was fighting more aggressively than usual, her after-image affect she was using was very effective. Gambol Shroud has a pistol, and could use the ribbon to keep her opponents away from her.

Pyrrha's Miló transforms into a short sword, and Akoúo̱ takes a direct blast from Nora's Magnhild, and block Pyrrha from several trees during her landing strategy. Plus magnets. And let's not forget she graduated Sanctum at the top of her class and holds the record for the most consecutive Mistral Regional Tournament victories.

Ruby is very fast, and has used Crescent Rose as sort of a base to use hand-to-hand tactics, as well as increase her overall speed. It's a very high-caliber weapon, and one shot will do a lot of damage. She also likes to fling herself in the air with Crescent Rose.


And I'd be happy to see them fight, and will be sad to see any of the main characters lose within the first few rounds.

And the arena is very important, as it could give a large advantage to other competitors

Only reason I said Derek (OC) could beat Pyrrha is because his mask can predict muscle movements and object trajectory.

Imo, they're all good enough in 1v1, except maybe that other bloke in Jaune's team and the hyper girl (forgot their names) He might have SMGs, but I dunno, he doesn't seem right for 1v1.

And the girl, she's got the grenade launcher, but fighting someone as fast as Blake or even Ruby, she would miss with the grenades, and the hammer.

I did a lot of combat analysis when I watched UFC, so that kind of perfectly came out with the tournament here.

But, I still feel bad for anyone up against Penny, because I don't think the strings will be a very obvious target. But if someone were to aim for them, she may be out of luck.

Anyone against Penny, better learn quick, cause she doesn't see to have all that much strength or speed, not compared to some of the others.

I wonder how Sun would do. That shotgun staff/nunchaku makes him pretty formidable in close combat.
