Better yet are the peeps that are referring to it as anime. RWBY isn't an anime. But the masses using words that don't mean what they think it means is hardly a new trend ...

I just looked at a review of the first episode on YouTube and cringed. The fact that he referred to himself as an anime fan made it worse. You think he would understand how things come to be referred to as an English dub.

Tons of anime does in fact have characters with large eyes, though thats just a trend thats existed for decades.

It's a trend that has gone as far as to manipulate the beauty ideal of an entire nation (namely Japan of course). You have larger than average eyes, or wear glasses that optically enlarge your eyes, you better be prepared for lots of oggling.

Anime is short form for animation, so technically, My Little Pony is an anime.

Let me clarify that I'm talking about the word anime and not the term of the same name that is used to categorize specific origins of animated production, like Black Lagoon or Darker Than Black
