I still think Penny's semblance is strings. The strings aren't coming from her back, they are coming from all over.

Would also explain how she doesn't cut herself up with some of those maneuvers with her weapon.

It doesn't add up how she'd be able to even control them all from her back anyways, so that'd make sense.

I like the idea of someone having a semblance that on paper sounds useless, but with a bit of ingenuity could actually be pretty efficient in combat.

I'm willing to say, for the sake of agruement(I hate that word, has too much of a negative conantation) that Penny is a robot.

Wouldn't that make her character arc more impacting if she does have a semblance, therefore a soul?

From experience I can say she really isn't.
She's excentric and socially awkward like me (and before anyone responds, she doesn't have Aspergers Syndrome either, that's not a real disorder).

Read a story with a character that kind of died for the same reason. Only time I have ever cried due to a media. All the other times were because I was in physical pain.

Of course the trailers just laced with the whole 'life and robots' thing.
