There was a character from a show we all like here, my little pony hint hint, who appeared in the pilot as a more or less possessed victim to her own rage and bitterness and had to get a fast-acting magic excorcism(common in most shows honestly) to make her return to her senses after being banished to the moon for 1000 years by her sister for trying to plung the world into eternal darkness and be worshipped forever.
Her name was luna, she was goddess of the moon and night, and was the younger sister to celestia, goddess of the sun and day. Luna wasn't seen until all the way over a year later in season 2, and in that time fans pretty much had free reign on what her personality would be in their head canon. They made the most sappy, babyish, cutesy, hyper-shy, adorkable, basically little baby sister of a character you'd ever seen and dubbed her woona, because of a lisp with the l's some young kids would supposedly have.
Than the actual episode with luna came out, and everyone's head canon shattered and broken into dust, blowing away in the wind until rose ignitted it with her sneeze.

Not as much as you'd think, but it was fun none-the-less. I hope they handle weiss in a similar way, showing her being as prideful as she is, but with a bit more humanity in her.
