Its nothing really. On RT.com, you earn awards based on what you do/what you have, so you'll get an award for having ten friends, posting so many times, being within the 2 million user mark, etc etc.
Staff awards are special in that they are only bestowed by specific staff members, and only because they themselves choose to give it to you, for whatever personal reason they deem worthy.
In this case, I put a smile on Mrs. Zuelch's face and made her day(as she told me herself), I only found out right afterward that she awarded me her staff award for it.
Socializing. Its for the feel goods.

I never said I was cold. Matter of fact I was prancing about in -5 degree F weather the other day. Not a problem.
The only time I'd have issues is when I'd start to slip.
