Actually I'd think she'd lose in the tournament. All that being shy, submissive, don't want to be hurting other people stuff and yadda yadda.
But when things go wrong during the tournament (as they always do in those shows), she'll wipe the floor with the threat when everyone else was struggling.
Let's not forget her specialty is magic, like Cinder and Glynda and that appears to be something VERY destructive in this setting if we go by the first episode's display of it. And if she's explicitely described as a powerful magic wielder, she might just hold back too much in fear for harming others in sparring.

If anything, I'd want Cardin to face Sun Wukon(g) or Penny in duel during the tournament.
For two reasons:
Cardin would totally be a racist douchebag against Sun and the latter thus wouldn't want to hold back -> Cardin face rearranged.
Penny would face a standard Cardin being a douchebag and I'm not entirely sure she actually CAN hold back to begin with -> Cardin everything rearranged.
Alternatively, Nora.
With a slasher grin all over her face the entire match.

But I figured Jaune killing the Ursa Major what Cardin couldn't do. Was I'd arcs finish.
Prefer episodes about Yang, Pyrrha and Velvet if at all possible. Jaunes had enough time in the limelight.
