Probably focus' her Aura or power source to a single point, building up to a desired level before being released in a laser cannon. The blades probably aid in focusing and aiming it.

They use magnetic(I've always liked magnets) fields to generate a huge amount of heat in a overlap of the fields, generating a plasma epicenter.

What happens when it is fired is that the epicenter becomes flawed, and a weak point opens for the plasma to vent, being contained with a coil magnetic field, to work more effectively.
