Can you do that with the Raider? I thought it only works with high ROF automatic weapons.

The raider is the second best weapon with which you wanna do it, after the reegar. If you hit with all pellets, of course. Just take its rof and multiply it by 8

The bad side is that if you hit with all pellets there's not much alive left to cheese the inferno incendiary glitch on :D

I meant Incendiary ammo and Inferno Grenade Cheese if you're confused :S

Yeah, I know, but I remember seeing a video from a BSNer (one whom I respect) showing it with the Krogan Soldier and PPR, saying that it only works with automatic weapons.

Edit: He said that the damage from Incendiary Ammo stacks up while the automatic weapon is firing continuously, and that it won't stack up this way if you use a non-automatic weapon such as the Saber or even when you use an automatic weapon but don't fire continuously (paraphrasing).

I admit, I never tried this glitch myself as I hardly even use Equipments on Platinum nowadays. o__O

It's not hard actually: if you stack up more than one incendiary ammo damage in the 3 secs, they stack in a non linear way. So the more ticks you stack in the 3 secs, the more damage you're getting out of nowhere. So it's directly ties to the RoF. So yeah it wouldn't work well with a Saber, but it works wonders with any shotgun, especially the Raider, since every shot counts as 8 different ticks. Basically, you're already exploiting that glitch by using a shotgun with incendiary ammo.

Best advice I ever heard for the raider is DO NOT shoot it fast at smaller targets, yes it will go as fast as you pull the trigger BOOM BOOM, but you should pause BOOM,,BOOM to get it more accurate. Big targets like atlas, ravagers, brutes and the what not are no problem, although you might miss the head, but if you pause between strokes of pain you will get more pain delivered.

As a recently initiated apostle of the Cult of the Raider I approve of this guide. Good work DHKany.
Pre-nerf Devastator Mode with the Raider would have been so good - a little bit of lag and you'd be able to get 5 shots per clip pretty consistently.

THEN I'VE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING WRONG?!!!? D:

all praise the (something something) raider.

I would actually like to use the raider on the krogan shaman, with warp ammo for ridiculous warp ammo + primed target damage. Only problem is that that means either going

- smart choke + HVB (therefore no omniblade, and every krogan needs an ominblade)
- smart choke + omniblade (therefore no penetration -ho ho inb4-)

Penentration really isnt too big of a deal though, just use the Smart Choke omni blade with Warp ammo and you should dealing enough deeps just fine. Wallbanging doesn't make or break the Raider.

I always like penetration just for being able to hit enemies through cover but it usually isn't all that necesary. However, lack of piercing turns regular Guardians into raid boss guardians.

On the Krogan Shaman Shockwave or barrier detonation raises his shield

You should run the High Caliber Barrel if you plan to run AP or Drill ammo instead of the High Velocity Barrel.

? Does it have something to do with the High Velocity Barrel cancelling out AP ammo's effect?

It is because it will use the cover penetration damage penalty from the HVB.  WIth HCB and AP or Drill, you will have full damage through cover, so you get a little more bang against hiding units and from multiple hits on something like an Atlas.

Wow.

If there was any doubt about Incendiary Ammo being the best Ammo in the game there isn't any more.

^ wont an ominblade add weight to the raider by virtue of it being a non-vanilla weapon?

I believe the reasoning behind this is that the raider is in the original game files and was just added to multiplayer through a balance change rather than DLC. Could be wrong on this though.

Pretty sure it was, just only available to PC initially in SP only.

It was a preorder bonus code weapon.  So it should have been on the game disk for all versions of the game, just locked out.  Which means that you could easily unlock it on PC with Gibbed.

The only thing I don't like about the Raider is that even with smart choke you have to be within the instakill range of most units to use it effectively. Unless, of course, you're using something like the TSol.

With hipfire and smart choke, I find myself able to shoot pretty accurately from medium range - say from the platform near the ez overlooking the entrance to the reactor entrance in the Reactor level - on any kit.

Not quite as sniper like as you can get with marksman kits, but definitely far enough to stay out of instadeath range. Most of the time, though, I admit that I'm zipping in and out of shotgun range with speedy kits in bloody hit-and-run attacks, it's just the most satisfying way for me to raider.

Thanks for adding the infidrell!

I also recall someone (Tallgeese?) talking about the Turian Cabal vanguard as a great Raider kit.  Spec as a weapons platform in passives, with fully specced nightshade blades, biotic focus, and turian passives, maybe put a few points in poison strike for mobility.

You'd have the ultimate hit and run platform, blink in and unload with Raider/nightshade blades, focus if you need to restore shields, blink out if the zone is too hot.

Disclaimer:  I suck with the cabal, but I've seen others use this strategy to great effect.

Quite true Gao, but the cabal lacks the sheer weapon damage potential that soldiers and biotics have.
Admittedly she would be the speediest of all.

Doesn't she get the vanilla (as opposed to armiger) turian passives?  If that's the case, the weapon damage potential should also be pretty good, though admittedly it'd be hard to beat soldiers/infiltrators in sheer dps potential.

oops lol I mean infiltrators  (even thought biotics with warp ammo are pretty good).
She does get the vanilla Passives, just that none of her powers really seem to be geared towards massive weapons deeps (marksman, tac cheat, proxy mine etc.).
