This idea is probably verging on crazy to insane, but i've wanted to do it for a really long time. rate and comment, if you wish.
"Subject Shepard-Commander has been recovered. Damage significant. Conscience still active..."
"... Consensus propose creating body for Shepard-Commander... Upload data and memories to internal databanks..."
"Shepard-Commander revival complete. Uploaded data and memories to databank. Linked conscience to Geth Collective. Unit Shepard-Commander, are you active?" Shepard opened her eyes, dizzy from her extended sleep. At first, she couldn't remember where she was, but upon lifting her hand to her head, in the place of her five fingered hand, was a three-fingered Geth arm... attached to a Geth chestplate... attached to Geth legs. She let out a scream, or in her case a high pitched whirring sound, and jumped off the bed. She landed on her side, her hasty rise causing her clumsiness to be accompanied by lack of coordination. She felt another hand, a Geth hand, similar to her own, grab her by the arm.
"Shepard-Commander, do not be distressed. Distress will cause only further harm to the platform," the geth said smoothly, in what translated to easy english with her Geth traslator.
"Who... who are you?" Shepard asked, growing more panicked at how her distressed voice had a robot-like undertone to it.
"We are Geth, Shepard-Commander," the geth answered simply.
"I know we're both geth, but what is your name," Shepard asked again, determined to get a straight answer.
"Geth," the geth repeated.
"What is the idividual in front of me named?" Shepard asked once again, her patience wearing thin.
"Geth," the geth repeated.
"It's no use talking to you. Why am i a Geth?" Shepard asked, forgetting her attempts to discover her activator, at which she winced, or gave her best way of wincing, at the word.
"Shepard-Commander's mission was to destroy Old Machines. Require your assistance once again." The geth stated, picking her up by the arm. Shepard somehow found her footing, steadying herself on her now backwards-bent legs. Once she steadied herself, she searched through the database of her body and found what the geth meant by 'Old Machines'.
"Why do you require my assistance? What have the Old Machines done that requires me to come back?" Shepard asked, unclear of just what her mission was.
"Shepard-Commander fought heretics on Virmire. Made opposition to old machines clear. A consensus was reached that this could not be done by geth alone. Geth needed a leader. Shepard-Commander was the only platform suitable for task." the geth said, almost an apology in his voice.
"So... you want me to fight the heretics?" Shepard asked, crossing her arms in a very human-like way.
"The geth require your assistance to destroy the Old Machines." the geth said, almost a sigh-like sound to his voice," opposition to helping geth understandable. But the geth require your assistance. will you assist us, Shepard-Commander?"
Shepard thought for a moment, 'building consensus', this geth called it. She found several advanced programs in her new body. As she collected results from each of the programs, she found that several thousand agreed to the prospect of helping the geth, while a count of at least 200 proposed that she leave and try to salvage what life she has left. 'good luck with that' her conscience scoffed. As she ran simulations of the outcomes of each, she concluded that helping the geth would have the best possible outcome, considering her new 'body' wasn't exactly socially appropriate for approaching the Citidel Council with.
"Well, most of me agrees to help, and majority wins, so... yes, i will help the geth defeat these 'Old Machines'." Shepard said slowly, watching the geth in front of her closely. The geth seemed to have relaxed, apparently prepared to argue further. The geth nodded it's giant blue orb, followed by a bowing of it's black paint-colored head as it moved up towards the helm of the shuttle. There it sat in the chair, and began to pilot the ship. Shepard moved towards the bed, and sat down, collecting her thoughts as the stars whirled past her in the window behind her.
'So now I'm working with The Geth. The same machines I worked to take down. Even better, I'm one myself now. Irony has a sick sense of humor.' Shepard thought to herself, as she felt the systems in her power down. But inside, she could feel the tens of thousands of programs tapping into her emotional database, and reaching out to comfort her, as her new body shut itself down for the day.
This is a Fanfiction story i'm working on, and I want you guy's opinion. I can post more chapters later.
