I just started my first game, and was wondering whether I am supposed to hear an audible voice when I select a dialogue choice?  When I select a sentence choice, the other people react and sound good, however, I cannot hear my own voice when I select an option.  Is there a way to fix this after the game has been started, and did I make a mistake when setting up my own character at the beginning?  Also, can I play this game all by myself without ever going on-line?  Thanks.

This is as intended by the developers. Your character has no voice besides from combat cries and other random in-game sayings, but besides that they do not actually speak during conversations.



This was done, according to Bioware to create a deeper bond between you and your character, and make you feel like you are talking for them, instead of being confined to pre-voiced characters. Not everyone agrees with the direction they've taken but that's just how it is.



To answer your second question, yes you can play the game without going online. Though you will not have your progress uploaded to your profile, nor will you be able to access the downloadable content without being logged into the account you have purchased it for.
