Hi!

Yeah, so I'm having a problem... Just before the landsmeet I declinded Anora's offer for help and thus denying her my support for the throne, after that I did unrest in the alianage quest and then returned. Since I already have a playthrough where Alistair is king, I changed my mind and went back and said I would support her claim for the throne.

The landsmeet comes and she renouces Loghain, but then, after Alistair killes Loghain, Eamon jumps in and says 'it's decided, Alistair will take his father's throne' and since Alistair is hardened, he readily accepts.

But.. What happened to me deciding who wiould be the ruler? The game just kind of skipped that. This has to be a bug, right? What should I do? I'd really like a playthrough where Alistair is a grey warden for awakening and DA2.

Any help would be really appreciated!

I think the only way to avoid Alistair (hardened) readily accepting the throne is to have your Warden execute Loghain instead of Alistair. On a side note, Alistair's -10 disapproval when he's hardened and my Warden said she'd support Anora in the Landsmeet was pretty annoying :P. That's quite the approval drop for a guy who kept saying he didn't want to be king and even agreed that Anora would be a better ruler when talking with Eamon not 20 minutes earlier, heh.

If Hardened Alistair does the duel he automatically slays Loghain and takes the throne unless you are a Lady Cousland. You must duel him (Or assign one of your other companions to do so) and don't let Alistair take the killing blow by deferring to him when he lops off Loghain's head. Afterward you get to decide who's butt warms the throne after the Blight.
