So I have now registered my two promo codes for two of the Bigfish 6-inch figurines (Grunt and Mordin, to be precise), and as I look around in my inventory, both here and on my 360, I find that nothing has changed, except that I now have them registered in a list in my control panel.

... Am I doing something wrong, or were the codes just for 'bragging rights', as it were?

You go to multiplayer and go to the store in the multiplayer and you open you free packs for putting those codes.
