Bwahaha! Sad, but probably true...

Back on topic, Cassandra would be a great companion and LI. I still feel like we don't know her that well, so it would be a chance to learn about who she's became 18 years after DotS. Plus, she's (presumably) a fascinating window into whatever the Divine's game plan is post-Asunder. Just how many of those Seekers remained loyal to the Divine? If she's a LI, I imagine we'd learn even more than if she were just a follower.

I apologize for bringing him into this thread ur right i should have never done this but i just wanted to get a couple of things off my chest because if i were to make an individual thread about him it would have gotten locked down withing the next 5 mins and since BSN changed the rules as to not allow PM's anymore and only talk in forums well there it is, anyways my apologies once again for involving him in Cass's thread

ON TOPIC: i do like Cass (even tho it seems otherwise in my previous posts) she is a character with good potential and i hope she will become a companion in DAI

Now that you mention it, I may have to make a drinking game out of this. Take a shot every time Cassandra says any sort of curse word.

What happens if she stabs something with writing on it? Chug your drink?

Seriously, though, if she doesn't say "Bullsh*t!" at least once, I'll be horribly disappointed.

R2, what's your source for DAI happening 18 years after DotS? I'm counting 13... but I'm bad at math.

Nobody here is bashing Cullen (yet). I hope they don't start, but if they do, it won't be because he's an evil templar who hunts mages. It will be because the name keeps cropping up in completely unrelated threads. I like Cullen too, and I hope he is a companion and LI in DA2, but that doesn't mean that I can't root for other candidates of either gender. The game needs more complex characters who are more than extremist examples of their faction, and both Cassandra and Cullen fit that role.

Hear, hear :D

I'm a little curious to know more about Cassandra, but that's mostly because I haven't watched the anime. I think she is fairly interesting, and I am never going to say no to a smart, powerful, strong female character. I am a little disturbed by the collagen injections she got to her lips for the trailer, but these things are to be expected I guess. We should be thankful she's still wearing full armor and clearly still kicking arse and taking names :)

As a LI, she doesn't necessarily appeal to me... she is close to me in age, and I sort of identify with her, so it would be like romancing myself lol But I can acknowledge that she's a fan favorite and would make a great addition to the team in my opinion, so bring on Cass for LI!!

DotS takes place in 9:22, according to David Gaider and the official timeline. It also says that in WoT. Cassandra's framing narrative in DA2 is in 9:40.

edited to add: We know that DAI takes place after DA: Asunder, which also ended in 9:40. So presumably the trailer is taking place in at least 9:40 or even later... So 18+ years.

If Cassandra is a LI and doesn't scream "Bullsh*t!" somewhere during a romance scene, I will be severely disappointed.

"Cassandra, I love y-"

Hmm, if Cass (and Galyan...) were both young in DotS, they could still be under 40, maybe even under 35, but we might just need an older protagonist for this one. I have no objection to age differences, but I'm not sure that works for a lot of players.

Wasn't Hawke in their late thirties by the end of DA2?  I wish it weren't an issue though....

Mid-30s at most, if s/he were 25 at the beginning of the game (no more than 10 years passed, and I think really only 7).

I don't think Cass's age is a deal-breaker, more like she is so powerful and experienced that I find it hard to believe she would follow someone else. But we don't know ANYTHING about the plot yet, so there's still hope :)

Plus correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Anders in his 30s? I assumed Isabela was, too.

She was pretty in DA2, not pretty in the trailer. I hope all the characters in the trailer look better in the final game product.

I think she looked beautiful in the trailer. A lot more realistic, imo.

She looked like she just stepped out of Vogue Italia in DA2.

I thought Hawke was in his/her early 20s to mid 20s at the beginning of DA2 and around his/her late 20s early 30s at the end of DA2.  I figured it was the same for everyone else in DA:O and DA2 for the most part other than a few exceptions.

Cassandra is probably around the same age range of early 20s to early 30s.  Dawn of the Seeker did take place at around the end of DA2 if I recall so Cassandra probably isn't as old as everyone else in DA:O and DA2.

Actually DOTS took place a decade before DA2 and Cassandra was in her early twenties at that point.I think she will be in the early forties by the time DA:Inquisition starts.

Who cares about Cassandra's age :) She still looks good and she deserve to be romanced ;)

Hell even the Knight-Commander Meredith (A lot older) looked gorgeous. As a mage I could think of many things I would want her to do to me in the circle.

Actually Cassandra has been confirmed to not be forty. I'd bet mid to late thirties.

Fan threads are like Ghostbuster's streams: they should never cross. (Unless a great evil arises and we must join together to put it down.)

Yup, R2s Muse was right. The World of Thedas encyclopedia gives 9:22 Dragon as the date for Dawn of the Seeker. Cassandra could have been as young as 18 at the time. That would make her 36 in 9:40 Dragon. She wouldn't be too old for a protagonist in his or her mid 20s - Hawke's age at the start of DA2 - but she would definitely have been too old for Carver.

I kind of see her as analogous to Aveline, at least as far as age goes. Some Hawkes look to her as a friend, equal, and willing (if unwitting) flirting partner. Other Hawkes cast her as a mentor. Isabela was also a bit older than Hawke, but that didn't stop BioWare from making her a LI. Not everyone avoids women with life experience.
