Nobody here is bashing Cullen (yet). I hope they don't start, but if they do, it won't be because he's an evil templar who hunts mages. It will be because the name keeps cropping up in completely unrelated threads. I like Cullen too, and I hope he is a companion and LI in DA2, but that doesn't mean that I can't root for other candidates of either gender. The game needs more complex characters who are more than extremist examples of their faction, and both Cassandra and Cullen fit that role.

Hmm, if Cass (and Galyan...) were both young in DotS, they could still be under 40, maybe even under 35, but we might just need an older protagonist for this one. I have no objection to age differences, but I'm not sure that works for a lot of players.R2s Muse wrote...

Mid-30s at most, if s/he were 25 at the beginning of the game (no more than 10 years passed, and I think really only 7).
I don't think Cass's age is a deal-breaker, more like she is so powerful and experienced that I find it hard to believe she would follow someone else. But we don't know ANYTHING about the plot yet, so there's still hope

Yup, R2s Muse was right. The World of Thedas encyclopedia gives 9:22 Dragon as the date for Dawn of the Seeker. Cassandra could have been as young as 18 at the time. That would make her 36 in 9:40 Dragon. She wouldn't be too old for a protagonist in his or her mid 20s - Hawke's age at the start of DA2 - but she would definitely have been too old for Carver.cjones91 wrote...
