Trust me, op. 95% of us know how you feel. At this point Im just hoping that ME4 ignores the RBG and is set far into the future.

You know things are bad when "bad fanfiction" is preferred over the "official endings"

It's not the first time fans have deluded themselves with bad fanfiction when the ending to something isn't to their liking

Deluded enough for a team of them spending months creating and refining a new ending?  Deluded enough that even a year after release, still gets over ten thousand downloads from the BSN alone?  Heck, can you imagine how many there'd be if it was available on all platforms?

I say it's a better, more desirable delusion than what Bioware rammed down our throats.  And a lot of others agree

Anyone who laps up what they fed their fans in that ending are the deluded ones. We're the only sane ones here!

I doubt anyone who spends any prolonged period of time on these forums could be considered sane.

Not everyone disliked the ending because Shepard died. I was expecting Shepard to die, actually and I was fine w/ that. I liked the idea that Shepard's fate was tied to the Reapers. I even liked the idea behind the ending. It's very vague, but they bring in chaos theory into the ending by mentioning that Shepard is an unknown element. In that respect Shepard becomes the Catalyst (at the very least metaphorically) by making that final choice, whichever one it is.

My problem w/ the choices is that they bring symbolism to the forefront way too much. Red ending in which Shepard sacrifices others to destroy the Reapers, blue ending in which Shepard sacrifices herself to save everyone and end the Reaper threat, or green in which Shepard sacrifices herself to not only save everyone, but bring them all together including the Reapers. I like the idea, but the symbolism is a little too heavy handed.

What I hate about the ending is that past the magic elevator, there's no emotion. It's just Shepard talking to an AI represented by an image forced upon the player, therefore it has no organic feel to it. And synthesis is just so horribly rendered it's pathetic and it's BW's fav ending. The EC makes it clear that synthesis is not indoctrination, but I can understand why people think it is. And speaking of the EC, synthesis cannot be forced, but let's force it anyway? I guess what the Catalyst meant was that since Shepard brought the galaxy together and everyone can hold hands across the galaxy, they are now "ready." And bad fan fiction? That's the ending of Leviathan and the over contrived explanation for the Reapers existence.

*sigh*

In the end, BW underestimated the attachment fans had w/ the game and its characters, which kind of boggles the mind really. But it is BW's game and it is BW's story. If they are happy w/ it, so be it. I don't have to like it and they don't have to listen.

It's actually somewhat funny now that I think about it.

What's funny is how many clinically insane people there are running around on these forums. Dragon 2, Mass Effect 3... And they're still here... I think some people are even still hoping that the ME3 ending will change, it certainly seems that way based on the threads that r created on here sometimes.

I created the topic, but I don't expect bioware to come up with a new ending.

It's a Forum, right?  I'm just venting my opinion.

The mass effect franchise is a great (maybe one of the best) video game franchises I ever got the pleasure to experience and i'm just saying the ending of ME3 left me hanging....

You may have have enjoyed the ending, i got no prob with that. I'm just stating my opinion about it. take that for what you will.

Let's wait for the update on ME universe.

People can hope. I still think that there is some reason to believe that Bioware could make it right . I think that is why a lot of fans are still talking about it. I honestly feel before they move on to another game. They need to fix the destroy option. I mean the whole last breath scene makes me believe that Shepard is still alive and that the crew of the Normandy will find Commander Shepard!

I wasn't talking about you specifically OP, you mistake me.

And yes, I agree. Mass Effect was the best video game franchise I had ever played. Which is why it had such a long way to fall when it crashed and burned from the top of my video game hierarchy.

Ah, 2012. The year of the great Twinkie shortage and where popular, well-reviewed blockbuster superhero movies got away with sloppy contrived endings.

Apparently with a cane....

Oh well OP.  You didn't like the ending.  Crap happens.  Some people did, some people didn't.  I think the vast majority of folks went, "Meh" and went on with their lives.  My advice....is to follow suit.  Cuz it beats dwelling on it!  Unless you're the type who enjoys dwelling on things you don't like,  In which case you'll feel right at home here.

:lol::lol::lol:

Oh, the good old argument about who's right. Truth is that we all are. Those who love the ending of the game are right. The ending fits their expectations and taste. Those who hate the ending are right too, since it does not meet their expectations and does not fit their taste. Those who like MEHEM are right, since it's kind of how they picture the ending of ME. But those are right too who say that MEHEM is crap. This is that small thing which is called subjectivity and difference.

But saying that you are the only sane one... is hilarious as hell...
