Just need to take a moment to get this out of my system.

1st I like how you guys are always saying you listen to your fans, and then do completely the opposite of what your fans keep telling you we want.

Why is it everyone keeps telling you that we want our wardens back, but you won't let us have them?  Or how about how you have a lot of Dragon Age fans that don't want to play as a human but that option is being taken away.  Keep on alienating your consumers and you aren't going to have a company much longer.

Thats my rant.

I personally have never said I want the Warden back, and I'm a fan.

Or keep ignoring what the writers and the producers say and be unhappy. Have it your way. They already stated many times that Dragon Age was about Thedas and its people. Not centred on one protagonist only.

I shudder to think of a DA game where Bioware implements every want, need, desire, crazy idea, etc. that is requested on the forums.

Well, you'd have a ghast companion, for one thing.

If I were a Bioware employee I would never read this forum, so full of negativity, butthurt and arrogance

I would hate to have my Warden back, their conflict is done with and I want to explore new settings and characters. Just because the 'Bring back the warden!' threads are filled with people who want to bring back the warden does not mean that everyone else does. I would argue that most don't. And then we would be the ones "alienated". But then I guess it wouldn't matter because at least you would get what you want.

Exception made. Bioware, make this happen!
edit: Divinity 2 had a summonable "creature" that you could put together which worked well.

I love my wardens by i wouldn't want any of them back. They have done their thing and their stories are over. Do we really need another "dealing with the taint" story or "You defeated the Blight" line. It's over and honestly, since the warden was a silent protagonist that the player sort of threw their own "voice" onto, even if they did bring the warden back with a voice and following the new formula people would just get all butthurt about it claiming that Bioware "changed ma warden!" No thanks.

"There is only one kind of Dragon Age fan! The kind that has the same opinions as me! Listen only to me and those who agree with me! Anyone who claims to want different things from the Dragon Age series is not a real fan at all, but secretly hates the games and wants them to be bad!

I am Queen Deadlite! I speak for all consumers and my word is law! Tremble before the mighty weight of my incontravertible opinion, for reality itself bends to my whim!"

My Warden is in a short pine box and I'd rather not have him back. He probably smells a little.

No, no, he's not dead, he's just … pining for the fjords.

*Kicks the box*

There, see, he moved!

Second complaint is valid, first not so much. I love my Warden to bits, but it's a third entry and it needs different hero.

Which fans? Near as I've ever been able to tell, our fans aren't of a single mind regarding anything... and that's even among the small subset that choose to come to our forums.

Why is it everyone keeps telling you that we want our wardens back, but you won't let us have them?

"Everyone" is not telling us this.

Or how about how you have a lot of Dragon Age fans that don't want to play as a human but that option is being taken away.  Keep on alienating your consumers and you aren't going to have a company much longer.

Just to be clear: us listening to what some fans express a desire for isn't going to translate into us always agreeing or even being able to implement those desires. We will, in the end, need to pick a path that accomodates our resources and our own intentions... and we'll take into account what fans express a desire for, even if we can't possibly accommodate everyone.

If someone feels alienated by our choices, then they shouldn't buy the game. That's what being a consumer is all about. If we don't have enough consumers once all that is said and done, we will indeed not have a game or a company for much longer. Thanks for the tip. :)

The op sounds like an angry 12 year old who hasn't quite grasped the concepts of fact and opinion. Her overuse of the word "everyone" is quite humorous.

I think bringing the warden back would result in the fecal storm to end all fecal storms if they didn't do the warden justice in the eyes of everyone. Which is nigh impossible.

it depends on the fan. I don't want a voiced protagonist, but that feature is here to stay. OH WELL<_<

As to your second complaint, some fans have a strong desire to NEVER see their Wardens again in future games. DA:O at present allows for a vague epilogue and for the player to write the rest of the Warden's story I their head, making the Warden the player's. Doing otherwise will also alienate certain consumers. Bioware makes certain choices for each new game, none which warrant so much doom and gloom as what they are receiving. IMHO.

I'm a fan and, with respect, you don't speak for me. Nobody can claim "the fans" as a single entity want one particular thing, and it diminishes your argument by trying to do so.

At best, it's true that some people on an internet forum want those things - the Warden as the protagonist and non-human protagonists - but unless you can discern the wishes of the vast majority of DA players who will *never* post here, attempting to hijack them to suit your preoccupations isn't helping your cause.

There are other things to consider, like David said, including that Bioware simply might want to do things their own way. They aren't obliged to listen to anybody here, and assuming that they'll drop everything to respond to every single fan request is fairly presumptuous, even naive.

I stopped asking for the Warden after DA2, she's gone to the special place were all elite Gaming Heroes go, our hearts, where she will be safe from the ravages of time.

As for not playing a Elf or other non-human races, you win some you lose some.
