The game isn't even out yet, and people are already complaining about what we don't have. Put on your big girl panties, and tough it out.

If bioware did everything its fans asked them too, they'd be broke.

And have very weird games, given that we all want different things.

It's kinda fun because there are people who's demanding DA to be a "more focus game" that appeal to a certain group instead of trying to please everyone. Demands, demands everywhere. Just reading them would be enough to drive developers insane, let alone actually follow all of those. lol

Is it going to get a 10/ 10 like The Last of Us is getting ?
Probably not.
There are some fans who believe Bioware implicitely. Who will buy anything Bioware makes. If Gaider and Laidlaw decided and got permission to make DAI with pokemon characters there are fans who would still buy it.
Nothing wrong with fans asking for certain things in the game although I doubt Bioware truly listens.
They seem to have a different vision as far as what an rpg is compared to what it use to be.
Of course some fans don't agree with my views on this. shrugs. We'll see if Bioware is successful.

I think a lot of people here equate listening to the fans with obeying the fans.

That we won't be able to play as any race other than human is one of the only things we know about the game, so I don't know what the big deal is...

First off:

Queen Deadite wrote...
1st I like how you guys are always saying you listen to your fans, and then do completely the opposite of what your fans keep telling you we want.

Oh really?  Do you think every fan in the world would be happy to see the protagonist do the horizontal bop with a Hurlock love interest, while at the same time trying to fend of a Nug Broodmother? These are just 2 of the less weird requests that pop up on these forums.

Furthermore:

Queen Deadite wrote...

Why is it everyone keeps telling you that we want our wardens back, but you won't let us have them?

Because there's no need for them.  By the time the DA2 story had finished the Blight was nothing more than a 10 year old bad memory.

Queen Deadite wrote...
Or how about how you have a lot of Dragon Age fans that don't want to play as a human but that option is being taken
away.

Because those people are in the minority.  The human protagonist was far more popular than all the others put together.

Queen Deadite wrote...
Keep on alienating your consumers and you aren't going to have a company much longer.

Hmm. Did it ever occur to you that they have consumers across the entire planet?  Pretty sure the loss of a few dozen is not going to do much.

That's what happens when your forums consist of emotionally unstable people. You see how OP of this thread acts like an entitled, spoiled brat? Well multiply that by one hundred and you get ME3 forums.

No to the return of the Warden as the PC.

While I loved my Warden characters and would have loved to seen his adventures continue, it didn’t happen. BW went a different (and underwhelming) route, even if that decision wasn’t as clear cut as some would like to think it was.

Its been too long. A whole game, a new series of threats… No, the Warden had his/her time. I was no fan of Hawke’s Uninteresting Near-Adventure, but there’s no denying it happened. Time to move on to a new character.

As far as the Devs listening to what ‘We’ want, I can’t imagine what a mess of a story it would be if they tried to cater to fans, and in this case, you’re really just talking about the people who **** the loudest. Only a fraction of DA fans ever visit the forums… so there is hardly any consensus of what represents a ‘We’ as a fan base.

All they can do is try to make a cool game, and learn from horrendous mistakes of the past.

Listen girly, I only want to know about my warden when people speak of her in reverent tones. Other than that.. nope, zero, nada De nada.

The warden was featured in two games. I think is about time to give her/him a rest.

I really don't like the direction Bioware games are going and could talk about that all day but the last thing in the world I'd want from another Dragon Age game is for the Warden to be the PC (or even appear,) in another Dragon Age game. That character already had a full story and then as a bonus we got an epic level adventure in the Awakening expansion.

The idea of doing sequel after sequel of a CRPG with the same character isn't very appealing because a.) They have to come up with newer, more epic adventures for your overpowered character to have and it could get all Dragon Ball Z-like unless the character gets magically depowered with each sequel and b,) It's just fun to make a new character from scratch and work your way up from fighting wolves to fighting demons as boss monsters to the big epic battle where demons are trash monsters.

Edit: As someone who always rolls a human in CRPGs and tabletop games unless the options for the human characters are really unappealing I'm not bothered in the least by just playing a human character. I do get why other people are though. I really like playing a Regular Joe/Plain Jane character who somehow wins the day anyway, and in that same sense some people really like rolling an elf or a dwarf or a halfling or a genasi or some super magical and exotic character.

Having posted in both forums I can confidently say that the ME3 fans are not that different from DA fans. Bioware people here get a lot of respect and forum posters defending them, but by the same token, BW people here don't treat fans with naked contempt as I've seen on ME3 forums countless times.

I don't know what came first, the chicken or the egg. What I do know is that I have not bought anything from the ME franchise after the ME3 fiasco - except Citadel for modding - and I have bought every DA item released :P

Costumers should vote with their wallets instead of nagging and whinning on forums. It is a lot more productive and you don't have to pretend you speak for everyone. If you do the game maker will notice.  If you don't then you get ignored but you save your money for better games. Xbox One peeps have just learned that the hard way and - hilariously - went to whine on public forums that the customers just don't understand their vision when everyone flatly refused to preorder their always on DRM. I'm surprissed the "anonymous Microsoft developer" who whined about Microsoft reverting the always on / no used games decision didn't say we customers missed his "Artistic Vision" but he certainly hinted several times at it. Customers hate your product = they are dumb is not really a winning slogan

I like this mock rant better, at least the poster is funny and doesn't try to pretend he is not calling you an ignoramus for hating his dumb idea :P

What happen to the OP (Queen Deadite) in this thread. He/She posted his/her rant and then silence. Is this one of those hit and run posts? Surely the OP will want to defend his/her position.

I was expecting and really excited for a DA3 ventrilo channel. Imagine my disappointment.

Yeah, the warden was a great protagonist and many people are asking for them back, but certainly not everyone. I personally am happy with the warden being permanently retired to legend and lore. I don't really want to see them again, that story is over.
