Well first I am shocked that the discussion was left open.  Second it is kind of off putting everyone took it so personally that I made a generalized statement.  Like I said I just wanted to get it out of my system.  So I put it out there and let it go.  Seriously if I was that angry about it, I wouldn't own the games, but I am allowed to be disappointed and shouldn't be made fun of because I choose to show that disappointment.

So I guess lesson learned I won't bother to post on the board.

Show me one post where an ME3 dev treats a fan with "naked contempt."

Do post, but post your own opinions -- not for anyone else.

And my opinion on the matter is that you always get further by critiquing someone constructively. You experienced today what a bummer it is to be the focus of negativity on the forums. Imagine what it's like to be a Bioware developer and read posts like yours all day, every day, for years on end.

Maybe next time offer up some helpful suggestions about things you would like, or highlight some of the things you already like that you'd like to see continued or expanded on. Give the good with the bad, and give the bad respectfully.

Really?

So you make a thread expecting it be locked because it is inflammatory and then you whine about people criticizing you for your admittingly inflammatory statements?

You are either a very good troll or not too smart.

A friendly tip. Next time try to use "In My Opinion" aka Imo or Imho(in my honest opinion) instead of "everybody" or "all of us" ... etc ... Help you avoid alot of trouble, trust me. Everybody can have an opinion, but assuming "everybody" thinks like you is a big mistake.

If you wish to rant that is fine. The problem is you used words like everyone. You have only one opinion and that is your own. You cannot and should not speak for everyone

Besides the obvious everyone only speaks for themselves bit, I have a question:

What exactly is your Warden?
  • Your Warden was created with a different game engine, so if they were recreated in DAI they would look entirely different.
  • Your Warden wore armour/robes created with a different game engine so what they are wearing would look entirely different.
  • Your Warden chose one of several sound sets and was a mostly silent protagonist. BioWare is not going to fully voice 20 different protagonists so your Warden will most likely sound entirely different.
  • Your Warden had spells and abilities that probably don't exist in whatever system DAI is using.
Would you really be happy with a different looking, different sounding, protagonist that had different abilities that BioWare tacked your Warden's name on to?

1st I like how you guys are always saying you listen to your fans, and then do completely the opposite of what your fans keep telling you we want.

Which fans? Near as I've ever been able to tell, our fans aren't of a single mind regarding anything... and that's even among the small subset that choose to come to our forums.

Why is it everyone keeps telling you that we want our wardens back, but you won't let us have them?

"Everyone" is not telling us this.

Or how about how you have a lot of Dragon Age fans that don't want to play as a human but that option is being taken away.  Keep on alienating your consumers and you aren't going to have a company much longer.

Just to be clear: us listening to what some fans express a desire for isn't going to translate into us always agreeing or even being able to implement those desires. We will, in the end, need to pick a path that accomodates our resources and our own intentions... and we'll take into account what fans express a desire for, even if we can't possibly accommodate everyone.

If someone feels alienated by our choices, then they shouldn't buy the game. That's what being a consumer is all about. If we don't have enough consumers once all that is said and done, we will indeed not have a game or a company for much longer. Thanks for the tip. :)

Why do you waste your precious "respond on the BSN in a completely appropriate tone"-ability on a thread like this? Posted Image

Thats my rant.

OP, let me give you a hint. A week ago Project Eternity weekly update told us about Item Durability and Crafting system. That controversial update spawned an emotional reaction and some negative feedback. After taking all feedback into account, Item Durability was removed and Crafting mechanics changed. Even earlier PE team presented UI prototype. After listening to feedback a decision was made to make UI 30% smaller.
I think you got the point.

There's still people from BSN on PE forums, arguing to add romanceable horses and rocks but fear not, Chris Avellone hates romances and we have good chances to stop this retardo plague.

My warden ran away with Morrigan and I'm assuming she has devoured his soul or something by now.

As for not playing an Elf or a Dwarf...

And have very weird games, given that we all want different things.

On the other hand, just think of all the options that would be available.  Truly personalized gaming experience.  :o

Why did you even post this if you thought this thread will get locked away? Nobody took it personally, it's simply a low quality, inflammatory thread these forums are full of and everyone got sick of ages ago. So if you are ready to lash out against someone, you might as well learn how to cope with it when it turns against you.

While it is true some fans are obnoxious and get out of control, fan is short for fanatic after all, developers should understand that goes with the territory .
Fawning fans who hero worship developers , while making developers happy, don't contribute anything useful to the discussion either.
It's not all sugar and rainbows .
Sad the newbie got their feelings hurt but they can't claim to speak for all of us DA fans.

honestly all I care about in any game is good game play and good story and that's about it

what i want from bioware is for the combat not to suck and the story not to end like ME3 XD
