I agree with the op. There are an excessive number of games set to that. I am getting really sick of being tossed into ongoing games on giant.

Typical bsner attitude...whine when people do nothing and are carried but when pugs actually try a strategy that may help them win and contribute people whine too.  Well time to go as usual bsn is still a stupid joke so see ya next week.

No, don't leave! However will we cope without your inspired, intelligent and positive posts?!

Camping only bothers me when the campers themselves get upset when I don't camp with them.

Edit:  And by bothered, I mean I simply leave after the match.  If other people want to camp, I don't care.  I just don't like camping myself.

I don't find it very boring, just gets a little repetitive. It's not really extremely slow either, you can still complete a game in a reasonable amount of time (30 minutes). but I always try to avoid it, I immediately leave lobbies which are set to giant. If you have a team of 4 semi-decent players, giant is by far one of the easiest maps to run around and complete in 20 minutes, easily.

I can understand camping on London. I usually prefer to semi-camp maps like London, sometimes Hydra (if geth). But never ever Giant, because that map is one of the easiest maps, absolutely no need to camp an easy map like that, and I freaking SUCK yet I'm still able to manage.

nice rant, thank you for bringing this to my attention. i will now go load up my gi with his sexy javi X and go camp the lz while using my triple penetration to snipe everything on the map while never having to move. after the match i'll let you know how much i topped the scoreboard by.

Doesn't sound like a problem at all, really.

Unless I misunderstood something, other people camping doesn't force you to do the same.

Simply move to the spawn point directly opposite, and on the far end of the map. It'll force enemies to spawn near the camped area and after a while they'll give up because the camp will get overrun by a mob of enemies.

I will admit I've ran a couple of these type games with some friends to help them farm some credits.  If its 2 or 3 people in a group and your the random cannon fodder they pull in...  all they need is is a juggy right where the wall ends and in the doorway to the back area there and viola....  It doesn't matter where they spawn (or where you are as the 4th for that matter) because they will all heed the call of the juggy and flock to him.  If the juggy knows how to juggy... shy of the stray phantom that may ninja behind around back the rest of the team is pretty damn safe to kill anything thats tryin to bring senior juggmeister down.

I don't always play platinum but when I do it is either rio/reapers or giant/reapers so I just play with them and go around and kill things. I did really well with my salarian infiltrator and wraith on that rio game. Gold is just the best difficulty to play I say.

took 23:15 and i only left lz for objectives. topped the board while camping giant. camping doesn't slow it down. it was gold btw.

Hmm, so that's how you stop that camp tactic for Giant. I may, or may not do this depending on how evil I feel, as I usually just leave when the boredom force hits me too hard.... And who am I to tell them what to do? ... Though I once did say "WTH?! Thisa ain't Platinum guys." Followed by dropping that game.

So is telling others how to play and complaining on BSN.  Any strategy people use is whined about by some douchebag on this site.  Op kits are shunned, op guns are shunned which is why BSN  is nothing but a stupid joke anymore.  If I played how BSN says I should I will go mad and end up shooting myself.

I don't know, isn't camping considered just as bad as rocket glitching in the eye's of the dev's? You know, the reason why they somewhat fixed FireBase White and added new characters to help break that habbit to an extent, thus forcing players to actually play this game more as intended & for more fun, instead of; "Duh, I'm too stupid to l2p, let's lets grind this game 'mindless style' by camping with the most insanely OP setups we can come up with!... It may not be fun, but *duh* me to stubborn too l2p this game the proper way. Been using cheat codes & tactics since the day I was born. Don't know better & don't want too. So don't tell me to change!!!!" ... so, er, I guess we shouldn't tell them to change?... np. :)

If people don't know better and want to do this, I guess that's fine? Sometimes I'm even up for it if in a good enough mood (but I don't stick around for more, that's for sure), but most of the times I just leave. Simple enough.

Other then that, asking opinions of others here on what they see and think of this should be fine, no? Please say it is, parico. :crying:

Those with maxed manifest shouldn't complain about people farming for better weapons. Blame RNG. They will play differently as they unlock better weapons and learn better set-ups. At least they aren't cheating and they have to leave for objectives.

Giant and Rio have to be at least half of the Platinum games played. I don't usually like to play with a mic unless with friends because I'm more of a Rambo player. But I do sneak it on after the game starts often to see if any random teammates are talking.

Usually they'll say things like
"hey eighty, come camp back here at LZ"
"Hey eighty-eight, do you know the box trick?"
"This guy keeps running around on his own, he's going to get killed" "Then don't revive him!"

The chatterboxes keep talking about things and their dislike of my play style and that the game takes longer. After 3 or 4 waves, when they see that I have twice as much damage as the 2nd place player, the chatter gets very quiet and I'll only hear a word or two every once in awhile.

Every once in awhile I'll un-mute the mic and tell them that it's boring to camp but they don't listen to me. I think most players try to push themselves to harder levels that are just out of their skill level and they need the team cohesion and safety of a camp-zone.

I enjoy fighting around the LZ on giant, it's not like I'm farming for credits (like FBWGG), I simply do it because it makes the game fun. Me and my mrs play together and spend a lot of the match there because it's enjoyable!

I will agree, it is at least fun on Giant.  The box camp on Rio is so boring though.  I refuse to enter that box except to get ammo and even if it will cost me the game by getting killed, I refuse to stay in there for any length of time.

I hate playing Rio, That map is too exposed and has a serious lack of cover for my liking. The only good thing about Rio is the amount of ammo boxes and grenades, I do love looking at the water where the buoy is though. Rio is definitely my most hated map, oh and condor geth!

I don't understand why it's "bad" to hold the LZ area, when your up against a superior numbered enemies its a valid tactic. I guess the 300 Spartans were camping sissys.

I did this once or twice when I first jumped to Gold, but now that I know what I'm doing a little more, it seems like you're making it harder on the team that way. Two ways for them to swarm you with no exit strategy.

I honestly don't see a lot of players doing this on EcksBawks. Then again, if the lobby is preset to Giant I usually leave. Most decent players I see block the back control tower spawn, because that open space in front of the LZ is a killing field. I think, after Jade and Glacier, it's one of the easiest to control and funnel spawns.

No nothing really wrong with that or other tactics, the problem is that when it beccomes such a standard that the majority of random games start coming up on those maps and or opponents.  BioWare listed the stats at the height to of Fire base white geth gold and it was startling how many gold games were on that map, making it tough for random players to not get that map.

Giant is my fav map. Plenty of cover, except for the "courtyard" open area hack and disarm objectives.

I don't really care about the campers, they can do what they want. I prefer it though if the LZ area spawns don't get messed up (quicker killing in the tighter spaces).

Set yer lobbies for GOLD/PLAT REAPERS GIANT/GIANT HAZ and I'll be right in!

Try Rio ....

Surprisingly, my last (recent) 3 Rio Platinum PUG teams were professionals.
Except one guy going to the box and staying there with almost no chance to shoot at the enemy.
