I've played with Zyzimorph, MasterReefa, kaxas92, Grun7mas7er and Leland Gaunt. All are very solid players and fun to play with. I'd be nervous to duo any of them!

I'm surprised that some people seem to be getting upset in this thread .. the intent was obviously for some fun ... and considering it is 11 pages in so quickly, I would say that was mission successful.

As far as Epeen goes, there is certainly a lot of it on BSN. One thing us non-spectres have to realize, it's not like you become a Spectre and then there is no more Epeen pressure .. there would be more! Now you're in a race to prove you belong and are one of the best Spectre's ... even among the best players, there will always be an undercurrent of "Who really is the best of the best" ... that is human nature.

I say "f*ck it, let's just play!"


Edit: also, in my experiences, every Spectre I have played with has been a team player, reviving, supporting on objective waves, etc. so I personally have no complaints and believe that lone-wolf persona many project here to be just that, a persona

Teammates only get my Drells killed, by random enemy grenades or screen shakes that mess up my killshots. For objectives like devices I would much prefer to solo a wave and kite enemies instead of having a clusterf*** around the objective, PUGS keep letting Brutes charge the person doing the objective.

You are not a truly elite player in that case.  As I said, you worry about others messing up your abilities and making objectives tough.  Instead of working with the players and tactics you are given and rising above them you run away, hopefully the pugs all get killed so you can kite and play solo.  One major reason why a pug group will fail?  The best player in the group runs for the hills. lets them get devasted and then plays hero soloing.

If I say over the mic an objective is too damn hot and we need to kite or get your ass out of the LZ because you're going to die, I have fulfilled my obligation to those that couldn't figure that out on their own.

Lol, Beerfish just wants to hate. He also doesn't seem to understand that with a squishy you can support your team best by protecting them from a distance. What good does it do if I'm standing next to them when a grenade goes off? Or what good does it do if I stand next to someone doing an objective and pull a Banshee or a Brute to the device?

While PUG'ing I often sacrifice myself on Wave 11 to help joe shmo get his extra money since I don't need it. Also, BIG LOL AT FAILING. WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE A SCRUB TO YOU? WE DON'T FAIL.

Beerfish I'm not sure you can blame the person who was smart enough to get out of a bad situation for the person in a bad situation dying.

Blame them?  No.  Say that they are a true elite player?  Yes I surely can.  I've played with some tremendous players who scored huge, stayed in athe group dynamic (even if the rest of the team were chunk heads) and used all of their skills to keep the team mates, alive, invovled and perhaps best of all having them learn from the player.

I've been in groups where there was a an excellent player, scored huge, full extraction but that either ran off to play solo from the start running to spawn points or abandoning the team when things get hairy, bailing out early and then cleaning up[ the level after the others have failed.  The truly elite player is the 1st one.

The tension in this thread.. I can feel way down in my plums.

I'm not a spectre, but I don't understand some of the innate hate for the group.. it's just some people who formed a group for fun.. just because you're not a spectre doesn't make you any less of a player and you're not automatically a better player for becoming a spectre.. being a spectre didn't make shepard it's being shepard that made him a spectre.. or it might be some kind of cult I haven't been able to get any games in since some have been indoctrinated .
