Blame BioWare for making Platinum the default difficulty when you first search for games.

Exactely. Had an N7 1 joining my platinum lobby earlier. What now? Explain to him what's wrong and confuse him while doing his very first match or even worse, kick him? Switched to bronze instead, geared down and changed to FHS with nothing but an avenger and had a fun game with the folks. After that I explained a few things and now he is good to go.

As for pugs, I only expect them to try and help, which mean do objectives, revive when they can, and stay out of trouble.
