Since I'm having a hard time figuring out what indie games to get, or what good RPGs are on that I've missed, I'd like to start a thread just for this.

I'll make a little contribute with Drakensang (now 3 euroes) and Thief II (which is also around 3 euroes.) There's also KOTOR II (a bloody brilliant game, I prefer it to the first) and Deus Ex which is only 4 euroes at the moment.

And oh! Keep an eye out for Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. It's not on sale now, but I'm sure it'll be later on.

You can get Cthulhu Saves the World for a dollar, that game is pretty cool.

Nope. That's why Thief II is a game I recommended:D

Just looked it up and saw that even though not advertised, you can get the entire Civilization IV package (CIV w/ the two expansion and the standalone CIV Colonization) for just over six bucks. Now I have never played the Colonization one and heard some conflicting stories, but CIV+both expansions alone for six bucks is a monster value if you like strategy/4X games.

Also X-Com: EU is along with the sale, another great game.

No RPGs on my radar (at least none that I don't already own, durp).

Well, I'm having trouble seeing all the game sales on Steam this year, because there's no definitive list of them anywhere. However, off the top of my head...

Jet Set Radio: an adventure game where you rollerblade around spraying grafitti in this bizarre cel-shaded totalitarian world. Pretty neat.

Pretty much the entire Sonic franchise on Steam is for sale, everything from literally the first Sonic game to the Dreamcast era, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle!

Pretty much everything Need for Speed is on sale, at least that Steam has (which isn't a very comprehensive selection, but it's a few of them).

The Witcher, first and 2, are both on sale--but of course you'll already have those.

I didn't know Vampire The Masquerade was on Steam. As a game that's gotten a lot of attention from the more traditional BSN fanbase, I too would be interested to know if it goes on sale (never played).

If you play on console you're still a casual. Just a hardcore casual.

Isn't this game awful on PC ? I heard the port was almost unplayable.

I really liked The Walking Dead. If you like cornelian choices and story driven games, it's a good one.
I bought Don't Starve today. It's still a bit expensive but I tried the demo on Chrome app store and really liked it.
And yeah X-COM and Farcry 3 would be the obvious must-try for those who haven't played them already.

Yeah, 75 % off TWD for those few who still haven't played it is a fantastic deal :)

Also, although this isn't Steam or technically a sale, I think it's worth a mention: Spiderweb Software games are this week's offer on the Humble Bundle. For fans of old-school CRPGs, the bundle includes Avadon, Geneforge, and most Avernum titles, as well as Nethergate and another Avernum if you pay more than the average ($4.31).

*sigh*

Still, back to reccomendations.

The Walking Dead is 75% off at 7 euroes.
And Just Cause 2 is at 80% off at 3.
Legend of Grimrock is 75% off at 3.

They'll last until tommorow (or according to Totalbiscuit anyway.)

Of the games on sale, if I had a halfway decent computer I'd pickup Age of Empires 2 HD and Morrowind GOTY.

It can be amusing to watch the casuals stumble around in their blind ignorance however.

Kenshi is 33% off at about ten bucks--not particularly cheap for a Steam sale, and the game's an alpha build, but it's already fantastic. I highly, highly recommend it.
